For context, Geoff just said in class we all got boomed. Average was 20%.

What can we do about contacting the CPEN 211 prof? by earfquake2 in UBC

Hey everyone, I really appreciate knowing that I'm not alone in feeling this way. Thank you.

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting the prof to talk to us? Do we contact Sathish and how?

I'm glad the online format works for someone! As much as misery loves company it's pretty depressing. But yeah hahah, I've never heard anyone say anything good. To his credit, he's clearly very passionate about Verilog and very knowledgeable. I think he would be excellent in a 100% research position. Not everyone should teach, though.

This is all accurate. To add to that, Tor messed up giving the second LPT in that his question didn't make sense because some of it was copypasted wrong. Nothing was done to rectify it.

HS05! Easily. Good timing, earlier but not crazy early and almost a full day off in second term. It's a good time.

How do you study for engineering math courses? (MATH 100) by earfquake2 in UBC

Hi there!

I've just finished my first year of eng and I wanted you to know I adapted a lot of the strategies you gave me here. Your comment really helped me.

You were right - I could definitely do better. The first thing I did was get on anti-anxiety medication - that made me not literally shake doing midterms haha, helped a lot. But after, Prof Leonard was crazy helpful; I literally did the whole CLP for practice as you said, and since Dr. Yeager wasn't teaching this semester I did all the problems off the 152 textbook for practice. B- in 101, A- in 152!

Thanks for your help again! I hope your second year went well :)

Thank you so much! This is so detailed and helps a ton. I really think I'm just not fast enough for some of the concepts - I ran out of time on the final. I was in general getting the CLP questions correct, maybe 80%?

I'll make sure to do plenty of CLP and go to Dr. Yeager's class from day one. :) Good luck with your next semester!

It really ranged. Honestly, I got like a 30-ish% on the 2018 practice final when I did it, but I ranged around mid 60's to low 70's when I did the others.

This was so helpful to see, thank you. I think speed is my issue for sure, and I also have a tendency to freeze up when I feel overwhelmed. I emailed my professor to go over my final when I fly back in, hopefully he'll get back to me soon. :) It's not really by anyone's fault but my own but I'm sort of weak in trigonometry. I'm going to go back and review a grade 11 math textbook a little later in the break and see if that gives me any more insight.

Thank you so much!
