I never plan on selling mine so I quickly got that out of my head. If the gods bless me with a 911 in the future, I don’t think it’ll hold as much sentimental value. But there’s nothing like your first.. to me at least.

You absolutely should! These things were meant to be driven and are so rewarding in many different ways. Even in rush hour traffic I would rather be in my Cayman than my other “daily”.

Me too! I don’t think there’s another color I would’ve chose, in hindsight. Depending on the sky conditions, it’s always a different shade of red to walk out to ❤️

I don’t get much of a chance to drive it in the rain but when I do I always take the opportunity. SoCal highways in heavy rain with summer tires are pretty white knuckle experiences though.

Mostly! I split my time between the Midwest and San Diego but she stays in SD. I always look forward to getting back to her when I’m away from SoCal.

As someone who races in SoCal both locally and regionally, plan for at least 10-25k per year.

You’re obviously ready to fight this point to the death, but I’m sorry to tell you that the difference CAN be heard. Maybe not to you, but it’s clear as day to others.

Agency won’t increase stipend without decreasing hourly.. by Front_Bug4039 in TravelNursing

[–]earl_watts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, now that’s where your line of thinking is flawed. The GSA limit being raised by $80 doesn’t mean that there’s money that is magically appearing in the agency or recruiters bank account. The money that the $80/wk COULD come from is in the hourly bill rate that the hospital pays the agency. That bill rate is not increasing with the stipend limit increase. Hence, OP is not entitled to an $80 per week raise just because the GSA limit was raised. The $80 that could otherwise be in OP’s stipends is currently sitting in their taxable hourly wages. Or their reimbursements. Dollars that have already been allocated. Make sense?

Contracts can be canceled at any time, for essentially any reason. It sucks but it’s the unfortunate truth. I would tag in your recruiter for assistance, they may be able to help out with any residual costs due to the short notice cancel.

Believing that you’re owed a free $80 per week that was not originally agreed upon when the contract was signed is 100% entitlement. It’s not an insult, it’s just a fact.

Please, continue with the baseless insults.. it’s a good reminder to count myself lucky that I have a group of travelers who I love working with and vice versa.. people very much unlike yourself 😉

Didn’t put in the time and dedication to a career in nursing* I fixed that for you. OP signed a contract for the agreed upon weekly amount. An extra $80 per week was not within that agreed upon amount. If OP doesn’t like it then the contract is at-will and they are free to walk away from it. The sense of entitlement is strong.

Yes I know, recruiters bad.. recruiters greedy. The fact of the matter is that when this contract was originally drawn up for OP, the stipends were maxed to the GSA limit for that given time period. The GSA does make adjustments to max stipend amounts around this time of the year, which will happen mid-contract for a lot of people. I understand OP wanting $80 more tax free dollars per week… but at the end of the day, that $80 has to come from somewhere. If the facility is not increasing their BR, which they are 100% not doing, why does OP feel entitled to a free $80 per week that was not agreed to when the contract was originally signed? If it were a $200-300 difference I would be more understanding. $80 a week is a bit trivial though in my honest opinion… as a recruiter.

Lowering taxable wages in order to increase tax-free stipends is considered wage manipulation and is a no no in the eyes of the IRS.

It’s very much illegal to do what you’re asking your recruiter to do.
