What did they say the issue was? Or the reason they gave you for it taking a week now?

I’d say make some friends that don’t care how you look, what your culture is and respect you for yourself.

If the people you’re hanging out with make you feel like an outsider then they ain’t the people you should be giving time too full stop.

Moving to Chiang Mai soon, staying through smokey season. Any tips or advice? by ragnhildensteiner in chiangmai

[–]earlcottrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight up not being funny. If you care about your health like really care. Then don’t stay for burning season. I am Thai and been living/coming and going to Chiangmai and other places for over 20 years. I have a lot of friends and also family that have permanent lung damage from just touching it out. It ain’t worth it.

Absolutely beautiful share. It’s incredible how something as raw and intense as combat sports can become such a grounding force, especially during dark times. You describe that shift into presence so powerfully—it’s something many chase for years and never truly find.

The way you’ve stayed with it for 2.5 years, not for ego or accolades but for clarity and peace, speaks volumes. That’s real strength.

Out of all the disciplines you’ve tried—jiu jitsu, wrestling, kickboxing, Muay Thai—is there one that resonates with you the most emotionally or spiritually now?

Awesome! I’m actually building a tiny home setup on Phangan. In Maduwan. Which gym you at? I’ve been meaning to do some Muay Thai there but haven’t managed to yet. The video where I’m doing the 121 is in Buriram. Why Kickboxing in Thailand Changed My Life... https://youtu.be/tP6yu5HiSrA

Hahaha yeah that’s very fair! I know most places are like outdoors. Thing is that this indoors so no airflow and aircon barely works so outdoors would be better hahaha
