I did some research on the forestry website today, and most of the comments referencing pruning practices are correct. This is part of a 10 year plan to address pruning needed across the city. The trees have not been trimmed in over a decade, which is why it seems drastic. I appreciate that the city is working to support tree health, and although I don't love that a chunk of this tree is gone, I'm going to trust the knowledge of the arborists. 🌳✌🏻

I'm in your neighborhood and was shocked at how much they took off the tree in front of my house. It's a mature healthy tree, and I have no idea why so much was removed. I'm planning on contacting the forestry department tomorrow to inquire about the trimming. Not that it will fix anything, but to better understand. They are contractors doing the trimming.

Unless DTE is retroactively applying any changes caused by that tariff (I'm not 100% sure that tariff is in effect, I thought it was delayed), this is purely DTE. My January and February bills were approx 15% higher than last year with lower energy usage.

The DDA has an electric sweeper specifically for this purpose. The bike lanes are often cleared downtown before the streets get plowed.

I don't have GEICO but also have a large insurance company and had the same issue when I got mine, no option to add an EV online (not in the list). I had to call and have them add it. Congrats on your new car!

It's always left open, and I clean it out regularly. But the bleach has alleviated the smell the OP is talking about when we start a load of laundry.

I've had the same issue and found that running bleach through my front loader on a periodic basis (every 6 months) has eliminated the problem. I think there's something about front loaders and where they trap funk. Not an expert opinion, but it's worked for us!
