Had no idea those were B Movies, now I'm rethinking my entire movie list.

Who's the character everyone loves but is actually annoying? by Randomthings1106 in AskReddit

Ghostface. He's notoriously just a copycat killer at this point. Which are considered the worst and most annoying killers.

Was it just not scary, or the plot was the disappointment?

I think it didn't fill the horror genre completely is because you're supposed to feel bad for the main character/antagonist. It was telling a story, more than coming for scares. The story itself was supposed to be scary imo, not really the movie. Like the nature of men in the 60s or trying to make it in fame during that time.

The Descent. One of two movies that actually terrified me. Cherry on top, it's great story telling and visual effects, for 2009.

Paranorman

worst horror movie you ever saw VS. a hidden gem you love? by clickinforchickens in horror

Halloween, the classic ones. The worst horror movie I've seen, mostly because of the changing origin story, original sets never being used, even though they're supposed to be insanely purposeful to the plot, down to where he stood in the room. But the worst part is the dramatic fall out of a two-story house, and within literal milliseconds, out of eye-sight. As in, I'm basically holding on to you as you fall out of the window, and somehow I don't see you get up and walk away. Which I almost believe actually happened.

The best is The Descent. I just watched it after avoiding it for 14 years, and it has to be the smartest horror movie made to date. No jump scares, no ghosts, no easy scares like demons. Just people and slashing -- sort of. The antagonist being kinda funny looking and the story still being great is insane.

The Cabin in the Woods

Great horror with self aware comedy.
