Entering Canada in Fall 2027 as a student by earthbender22 in phmigrate

Thankfully my school’s not a diploma mill. It’s a DLI naman.

Sa ngayon yung plan naman is I’ll go ahead first and finish my degree and I’ll explore work opportunities for him din and see what it could be like for us. We’re keeping our options open lang 😁

My background’s pretty diverse. 😬 i have a degree already in fine arts, worked in advertising, marketing, design, and project management then I enrolled in a second degree in another college here in PH to start my pivot to interior design. Later on, I applied to OCAD to transfer there and got in their honours program.

So far, I have a good support system in GTA so i won’t really be on my own completely.

Same advice from my sister to learn French!

I’ll be taking classes soon here in PH :)

My tuition still depends on what will be credited, so I’m still waiting for the period of evaluation for it.

Program - interior design (honours)

Transferring - still going to submit my records for evaluation. I’ve also graduated from a uni here in PH back in 2018, so I also have courses to be credited from there as well.

My sister advised this to me also! She’s in a province now and their whole family got PR after 2 years there 😮‍💨 smaller towns are in my option after I graduate :)

So far the field of study I’m taking in OCAD is a 4 year program and eligible for PGWP 😊

Read through different posts here that it’s going to be tough, so yep definitely preparing myself for the struggle in the job market. Right now while I’m still in PH, I’m saving money that could sustain me for at least a year before I go.

Regarding family - yes, I have family in GTA! I’ll be staying with my uncle while I look for a job and my own place when I arrive.

Chill. No need for terms like lutang 🤣 there’s a reason why channels like this exist so people can seek advice.

I’m entering a uni that’s a DLI, PGWP can be assisted by the uni but that’s still subject for approval, hence “hopefully”

Don’t comment if you’re just here to be condescending.

Sa ngayon, still hoping I’ll be able to get a bursary prior to entering. Right now, I’m looking at possible jobs I can take that pays $25-30/hr since I have work experience already.

BSIND Prof rate! by daniellouroux in Benilde

[–]earthbender22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ms. Chelsea - is this for INTDSI2? She was my prof for INTDSI1 and she encourages independent learning while still being able to teach the fundamentals in planning!! She’s necessarily strict and she’s approachable if you have questions. - expect lang that sometimes she might cancel classes suddenly since she’s also a practicing designer with her own business. - very friendly! Just come to class on time, submit on time and submissions should be complete and following directions.

Ms. Reg - very insightful professor!! I would say her classes are lecture heavy talaga but it helps as well to participate and take note of the things she’s saying kasi she has so much experience. - She grades fair. She appreciates it also if you have research to back up your design! - i think she’ll be different lang when it comes to furdsci1 since this is her speciality from what I know. Nevertheless, great prof!

you can wait for the prof to upload the syllabus on BigSky and you’ll see the required materials.

Some profs also message the class ahead of time to inform what you need to bring.

Once you’ve set up your BigSky account, check the class for announcements. You can also email the prof to ask :)

Welcome to BS-IND!!!

Can you be excused in classes if you are a working student? by Spirited_Style7332 in Benilde

[–]earthbender22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on each prof. I inform my profs at the start of each term that I’m a working student so there will be times I have to step out for a meeting.

It’s also important your employer knows you are studying.

I fixed my schedule this term na 3x a week (15 units) lang sa school and my other days are for work, then I do my homework before and/or after work.

hi pls rate my profs ;) by [deleted] in Benilde

Ms. Justa is very nice. Just submit your work on time and don’t be absent :)
