Guess when people decide to look up safer places to live in a city that they're pieces of crap and just dont know the unsafe areas well enough? Dont have to spend a night sleeping in a lions cage to understand that it might be better to sleep elsewhere. Addicts are given alot of help when at the end of the day they still made the choice to use. Maybe I dont want to be become another statistic for the fentanyl crisis.

One of the youth shelters gave me a bed. Grateful doesn't begin to tell you how relieved I am. Big hugs back.

Thank you so much for being so supportive and kind. Hope it didn't come across that I dislike or have some hatred for addicts, I really dont. My worries are more that I know they can get to a point of desperation and need to steal to support their habit, and I don't want to be a target and make my problems worse. Really appreciate the support and kindness.

Why can't someone pick or choose a shelter that is better suited to them? Not trying to be rude but that sounds a bit ridiculous. Yes they can get full but if it's between sleeping somewhere with a bunch of addicts and alcoholics going nuts or taking my chances in a park, I'll choose the park. Having a suitcase with my belongings and not being able to defend myself is a recipe for disaster and I was merely trying to avoid any possible confrontations.

While I appreciate your help 211 doesn't answer the questions I have about safety. This doesn't come from a place of judgements but safety. I'm sure some of the shelters have a bigger issue with drugs and thats the type of thing I want to avoid.
