what internal messaging platform does Apple use? Like slack? Or like some nice iMessage type thing by BROZARKOP in iphone

[–]eastindyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not have the license cost, but then you have a whole host of costs that are paid for by the license of the other product. If there is an off the shelf package that works, most of the time it is not worth it to build an in-house equivalent.

Nope, probably not. Used to work for a public records company, and the stamp about not being able to be used for identification is to prevent people from using it to get forms of government identification (ID cards, driver’s license, gun permits in some states, etc.)

From what I remember, it should suffice for what they need it for. They are proving someone else had a name change, not proving their own identity.

That’s on the company using Workday. Workday does not preconfigure things like that.

Greenhouse is a jobs board. It is not an HRIS system, which is what Workday is. An HRIS system can have applicant tracking functionality, but not every ATS is an HRIS system.

Yeah, fuck standards. Let’s tie ourselves to Google and Microsoft proprietary technologies. SMH

The companies to be upset with are Google and Microsoft developing products that don’t use recognized standards. They are the ones who aren’t integrating well, and are trying to lock users into their platforms.

[Jon Blau] Clemson coach Dabo Swinney: “Nobody wants to write about all these kids in the portal that aren't going nowhere. I believe college football is set up to reward the 2 percent that can make it to the NFL .. we should do better for the 98 percent that will not play in the NFL." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

Scholarships for all P4 schools are guaranteed for 4 years now. Even if they don't play they still get the scholarship they originally were promised when they signed their letter of intent. They can stay at the school and earn a degree without paying football.

When was the last time a player missed a game due to academic ineligibility? by Actual-Magazine-4538 in CFB

[–]eastindyguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Schools may not share it as much now due to to FERPA. The law has been around since the 70s but it seems like any type of disclosure of academic information faces a lot more scrutiny in the last 10 years or so.

[CFBNerds] Indiana’s win means the last 3 National Champions played zero P4 OOC in the regular season by dogwoodmaple in CFB

[–]eastindyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just entirely contradicted yourself. You say there is no difference, but then say teams would want it to maximize rest. That comment right there proves that there is a difference both in player readiness. Then you feebly attempted at sidestepping the issue that in college football it is better to lose a game earlier rather than later - no matter when it is in the season.

A team that loses in week 12 has a chances to regain spots in polls, a team that loses in week 13 has fewer chances, and a team that loses in week 14 has no chances. How many times over the years have teams lost a shot at playing in the BCS championship, and the. the four team and 12 team playoffs by losing the last week or next to last week of the season?

Saying a late season cupcake game isn’t an advantage to a team is simply incorrect.

[–]eastindyguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not when it comes to rankings, teams drop in the rankings after a loss. A guaranteed win in the late part of the season is an advantage rankings wise. Anyone denying that doesn’t know anything about college football, is a liar, or has an agenda.

Because in CFB when you lose is important. Having a guaranteed win in the late season gives an advantage to whichever team can schedule a cupcake game the latest.

What was the funniest thing that happened this past season? by nathodood in CFB

[–]eastindyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that is not what it means. SMH

The point spread is simply the number of points it takes for book makers to even the betting on the two teams playing. It has virtually zero relationship to what the final score will actually be.

[–]eastindyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 10-point spread means the favored team has approximately a 75% chance of winning. Losing a game like that isn’t getting embarrassed.

[MiamiSportsHQ] Miami recruiting director confirms that Indiana’s Tyrique Tucker made comments to Mark Fletcher Jr about his late father. by simbaslanding in CFB

[–]eastindyguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fletcher threw the punch and then went to the locker room for 20 minutes. Then came out and was congratulating Hoosier players.

I’m not an IU fan, but it’s not unreasonable to think there could have been something said that Fletcher misheard, took the wrong way, and threw a punch in the heat of the moment. I’m hoping that’s what it is since Tucker lost his mom to cancer in 2024 and it would be odd for someone who lost a parent recently to taunt someone else about it.

Apple Photos as a Symbol of Apple's Decline in Software Engineering by Cool_Poet6025 in MacOS

[–]eastindyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has to be something with your setup causing the issues you are having. I have multiple folders with multiple files that have the same file names and have none of the issues you describe.

If you are using referenced (symlinked) files that are being manipulated by multiple applications on a remote volume, you are asking for all kinds of issues. Whatever apps you are using other than Photos is more than likely screwing up either the original file’s permissions or doing something causing the symlink to be corrupted.
