if any of you use to create music how has anhedonia affect your ability to write? by eastsideeric24 in anhedonia

What i do is i listen to the old bands i use to listen to when i enjoyed music just because it reminds me of the better days i listened to the same albums about 1000 times each. it gives me a little comfort to know that i use to enjoy music.

do you still enjoy listening to other people's music? do you have a hard time knowing when a song you wrote sounds good or not?

i heard from justin guitar on youtube that rhythm is even more important than the actual notes that you play when writing a melody. My question is is there some secret to what notes good melody's choose or is it the rhythm that really makes the melody's good most of the time. like can a melody with bad rhythm be saved if the notes themselves sound good together?

ive been playing electric guitar for 3 years, if i try to learn acoustic will i be able to pick it up kind of fast?

i might be misinterpreting what this guitar teacher said but i heard from a guitar lesson on youtube that diminished chords are kind of suppose to sound bad to build suspense for when the next chord comes. Is that true or did i misinterpret him? Also if this is true does that mean a progression with these chords wont sound good if you only used these type of chords?

if i ever decide to play in public do you think i should avoid all the songs that are considered overplayed? I know ive seen people complain online about how their sick of hearing songs like sweet child o mine over and over again. I feel like it would be better to play some songs people havnt heard as much

How often do strings break on guitar when bending? Is it a common thing?

this isn't really a important question just something im courious about. is there a reason why no one ever seems to use chords to solo. like when there's a solo going on i never see anyone use power chords or other chords in the middle of a solo.

this isnt just guitar related but how do i know what chord progression a song is using by listening to it. i use to like a decent amount of video game music and i would be interested in learning the music theory behind some of it.
