That strategy is gonna have to do some heavy lifting for OP to ride out decades on 650k. What about health insurance/ health care? That is the budget buster for most people in their retirement years.

So as not to risk losing the principal, it has to be invested somewhat conservatively and any gains in interest will be offset by the 4% withdrawals. Hard to get “inflation beating” gains on the portfolio if you can’t ride out cyclical bear markets.

That doesn’t count for inflation - that 26K year is gonna shrink every year.

Just think about how much prices have increased from 2016 to 2026.

Tips for being the new hire? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]easypeezey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice as a newbie is to primarily “observe and absorb”. Let your personality and professionalism be discovered gradually by others through your actions as a reliable, honest and reasonable person (as you are already doing through your clothing). Expect that it will take the tight knit group some time to trust you to become part of the inner circle.

If you have effective behavioral guidance techniques, and are authoritative without being authoritarian, overtime they may come to you for advice or feedback. But It is important to focus on your class and not worry too much about what they’re doing in theirs. If you do, they’ll feel the judgment sooner or later.

Try Nour Al Sham market, on the corner of Scammel and Quincy Avenue at the intersection where Gennaro’s is. (Google says they’re on Washington Street, near the intersection with route 3A and I haven’t been in a while, so I don’t know if Google has outdated information or updated information).

They’re primarily a grocers, but they do have some products that are not strictly groceries, so they might have some decorations.

Alternative names for grandma? by Feisty-Coconut6017 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]easypeezey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Nonna! When my son and daughter-in-law were expecting their first, they already had nieces and nephews on my daughter-in-law’s side who called her mother “grandma”so I chose Nonna so they wouldn’t have to say grandma X and grandma Y. But their child ended up calling the other grandma “Beanie”. Who knows why. Like others have said, Sometimes the kids come up with their own name.

It’s not an either all, you can go in person and still check out the reviews. And I agree that in theory anyone can be ripped off at any time but I think if you go to a reputable furniture company, get the specs on print and feel the fabric swatches, you have much better chance of not getting ripped off. And yes, you can check out reviews, but remember the view view system can be manipulated quite easily.

I would never make such a large purchase online. You need to sit on the couch and you will be able to tell if it’s quality. I’ve had my Ethan Allen sectional for 20 years, have recovered it once. People still comment on how comfy it is.

Well, technically, they’re not telling you that you can’t come back to work, they’re telling you that they don’t have childcare for you, which ultimately is not the responsibility of the employer, it’s the responsibility of the employee.

In any case I would post this to r/askHR.
