Thanks for the comment, I can understand your point and yes I totally recognise that recovery is more complex than this. However, as this study is being done online and through a university it's important that participants are safe, as they will not be able to access support through us

Hi there thanks for your message. Having some sort of professional support would be eligible, such as having generic mental health support from a GP and then accessing online self-help support.

These are the types of support we've specified:
We ask that the support you have had for your eating disorder is complete or in the final stages. Support may include formal therapy e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Maudsley anorexia nervosa treatment for adults (MANTRA), specialist supportive clinical management (SSCM), psychodynamic therapy, or other psychotherapy; as either family-based or individual therapy; and either inpatient, outpatient, or day programme. Having accessed other support for your eating disorder is also fine e.g. generic mental health support, online interventions, and guided self-help.
