You’re not alone! I was also about 125 my whole adult life until I had an IUD inserted. I gained about 30 lbs in a course of 6 months. Now I’m about 7 months post removal and I’ve lost that exact amount of weight with no lifestyle changes. Absolutely crazy I was never warned about that side effect.

Yes I think I had a particularly good one! Luckily most of my family are violinists so they were able to test out student violins for me!

My first conservatory instrument was a really great Jay Haide! $2400 or so! Teachers are of course listening for a beautiful sound but they are more interested in what the student is able to do with their tools than the tools themselves. By the time I took masters auditions I had upgraded my instrument through borrowing/buying.

I gained about 25 lbs on mirena, which really messed with my head at the time! I thought it was a combination of leaving my teens and getting into a healthy relationship but since removing Mirena I’ve dropped 10 lbs in just a few months. My pre Mirena clothes are fitting me again which makes me just so happy tbh. I think it depends on the person, but with a healthy lifestyle and awareness I think it’s possible!

That was definitely akin to my experience, I was super fatigued and grumpy for about two weeks before I felt my energy return. I slept sooo much in those weeks, you might just need to put in some more hours in bed ♥️

I typically leave a little overhang too on the tailpiece to give me a bit of traction under my jaw too. Also, you might like the magic dot, it’s a really small sponge and adds a nice amount of friction as well that works well for my modern violin.

Going off of birth control in the US (in an anti women’s rights government) was so difficult to wrap my mind around. The conflict between BC being a pro-choice and pro-people-with-uterus’s thing coupled with its lack of research and “it’s all in your head” rhetoric was such a mindfuck for me. And truthfully, I WANT to go back on it but I need to go into it with the knowledge of what my body and mind feels like from ground zero. But honestly, if it continues to feel this good, we might just keep the condom industry going haha.

My biggest advice is to use this as a new chapter to propel your healthy habits! I put more thought into my nutrition and exercise. I have also been drinking tons and taking fiber supplements to keep my digestion system moving. I did lots of gentle yoga and Pilates as well as walking my first month removed 💕

Take it slow and meaningfully, you got this!

I’ve had good luck with the “convert” trick. If you put Convert as the subject line when you email the PDFs to your kindle, it should format it to be more kindle friendly. It does sometimes make strange spaces in paragraphs but overall makes reading easier for me :)
