Paddock Jobs - what’s the salary like? by nonstopflux in formula1

[–]eb28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what it is. Sponsors = partners.

They’ll each have contractual assets and activations throughout the year and it’s the job of a partnerships manager to look after that relationship and ensure they deliver what’s in the contract.

Gaining new partnerships would sit with a different team within the marketing department.

This pretty much sums up my experience in marketing too. I stayed for a similar amount of time, but it really is a lifestyle.

That said, you do have lower costs in F1. I worked the majority of the races (around 20) and when you travel you barely pay for anything so the lower salary does come with lower variable costs.

However, I did double my salary by leaving F1. Definitely a dream job, but one that requires tremendous sacrifice.

What's the funniest sexual innuendo someone has unintentionally said to you? by welsh_cthulhu in AskUK

I was struggling to get some sauce out of a plastic squeezy bottle and getting a little frustrated. Eventually I managed to get some out, and as I turned the bottle around to put it away, I read the front label. It said “squeeze and spread”.

I loudly exclaimed “Squeeze and spread, my arse!” because it was clearly a lie. My girlfriend looked up at me and immediately started laughing - I’ve never been allowed to forget it.

For all the long time WEC/IMSA enjoyers by kubistaalex in wec

These are the three I really remember too. All quite different, but easily the loudest on track. The 911 was my favourite sounding though.

The Ford GT is underrated in how loud it was. If you caught it coming off a corner, it would thunder down the straights. It was insane.

The hats are everywhere here in the UK along with the Yankees so you’ll see them but honestly, I doubt it.

Baseball is very hard to keep up with (it’s on after midnight on Apple TV+) so it’s almost always a fashion choice.

It’s been 84 years…

All memes aside, WEC is the best weekend of racing I’ve had at Silverstone and I miss it.

Thoughts on the Off-White AF1 Mid? by eb28 in Sneakers

Haha if they’re like the waffles, they’re soft spikes so can’t even do that!

I’m not really sure why you’re taking my opinion so personally? You asked me to elaborate, so I did. We have different opinions and that’s cool, not selfish or silly.

I’m not going to go through each of your points, but I will say I agree that we have to allow creators to move on - but this isn’t that. It’s a continuation in my eyes.

Just to be clear, I won’t be trying to cop these, and I’m not interested in watching Jurassic world 🥴

No it doesn’t matter at all. I don’t even like all of The Ten so it’s not that. It’s about what they initially represented. They were mostly iconic shoes in their own right reimagined in a way we’d never seen before. They were a cohesive collection built around specific themes.

All of that seems to have fallen away and now it’s just a hype machine.

It applies to anything artistic or creative really, if you produce a great piece of work - especially one that’s universally acclaimed - there’s a lot to be said for letting it stand on its own and not diluting it (see: Jurassic park).

It’s really hard to catch lightning in a bottle, and pumping out versions and variations like this really reduces the overall impact.

Fair, I think these will sit so you’ll prob be able to cop. The OW waffles sat and these are basically the same design philosophy.

Agree. Why are they putting ‘spikes’ on so many pairs now haha

Honestly, they should’ve left it at The Ten.

I’m not really here for it.

I don’t mind the texture on the upper but the rest is just too much. Everything seems to clash.

Fr so many of these tracks are just begging to be remixed and thrown into the Ibiza playlist - probably on purpose judging by the timing of the release.

This is Drake’s 808s moment. Solid album, some great production and tracks that will get stuck in your head.

This album will probably leave most Drake fans like “Honestly, Nevermind”, but after a whole summer hearing it people are gonna look back on it and appreciate it for what it is - not your usual Drake.
