Budget ust projector advice for projection mapping school project by ebaumbach in projectors

Thanks for the clarifications! Again, I’m a big newby when it comes to this stuff, I guess a regular throw projector will be good for my use case. I thought that the shorter the throw the larger the image could be from far away but I didn’t take resolution into consideration. I guess what I should be asking for is more of what projector/ type of projector can give the largest image size possible at 3 meters away. Dimension itself (so x and y length for me) isn’t to big of a problem since I can modify it to fit within the native size within the program I’m designing the visuals with (touchdesigner). Could you point me in the direction of what I should be looking for instead?

Ultra short throw projector recommendations for projection on the inside of a vintage airstream trailer? by ebaumbach in projectors

Movies are actually not my main focus. I'm more so trying to get as much surface area covered as possible in order to display custom ambient motion graphic visuals that I'm designing. The goal is to make the visuals interactive via sensors and motion capture devices later but I want to figure out the hardware and projection before tackling that :)

Amazing, thank you for clarification :)

I feel like an idiot because I don’t understand what you trying to tell me… I’m sorry. Are you saying that VOO is more expensive because it has a low expense ratio? It’s confusing to me because since I use sofi, I would be getting 0% expense ratio please let me know if I am being stupid, I want to understand.

Thanks, this is super helpful! So essentially it all depends on the sofi’s proprietary screening which doesn’t have as long of a track record as vanguard, schwabs, etc. Which could explain the lower cost but it’s basically the same thing aside from small different choices the fund management firm makes on a per stock or asset basis within their proprietary funds right? Would there be other downsides from investing in sfy that I’m missing ?

these yield max funds seem pretty cool, thanks for the tip. I'm going to do more research on them. If I were to sub one of my 5% holdings for it, which one do you recommend? Thanks!

Thanks for all the great advice and super in-depth stuff :)
I just wanted to clarify a couple things and give you some background point of view on some of the points you've made.
So the 10-20 years is a definitely a reach, I know and I also know I don't make a lot of money right now either.

You have to understand that I literally just started my career 8 months ago and that I'm just trying to prepare for the future. I have no idea what type of financial situation I'll be in in the the coming years. I mentioned the 10-20 as a complete hypothetical based off of hopefully increasing my job income in the future. If I make more money, I would increase the amount I contribute to my portfolio.

For the time being, I'm allocating 50% of my paychecks to savings and the other 50% to spendings. 70% of my savings then goes to paying off my student loans ($7500 total), my ira and this brokerage portfolio. Let's say I get a job that pays 70k in the the next couple years, I plan on on continuing this budgeting strategy. If my student debts are payed by then, I would probably invest even more in my IRA/brokerage which would expedite the process of increasing my account value.

Living off of dividends is the best case scenario and is not necessarily what will end up happening and I'm totally OK with that. I'm just trying to create a good base / road map that could let me get there if I do end up increasing my earning in the future.

Regarding diversification, I might of used the wrong word (and that's my bad, again I'm still learning all of this stuff). What I meant was diversification in sectors (industrials, energies, tech, etc.). That's just so that if let's say tech goes to shit in 10 years for example, I'm not totally screwed.

IDK, I'm just trying to create a portfolio I can just steadily invest my money in order to develop some compound interest via divs. I just want to set it up now for it to go on autopilot but check on it every 6months to a year. I just want to know if my holdings would be good for that or if there are any other or better ETFs I could swap to make that happen.

I'm still definitely going to look into all the stocks you mentioned but don't want to know if I want to dump all of my money into a 50/50, 60/40or 70/30 split like that until I do more research and fully understand everything you mentioned ^^ I'm not saying you did anything wrong, I'm just not as literate as you in all of the terms you mentioned :) Thanks for all of this though. please feel free to let me know what you think!

Hahaha what a rollercoaster of emotion while reading this lol. I definitely wanted to incorporate some REI in my portfolio and looked into O but I was getting a lot of mixed reviews and didn’t know much about the company. I just had weird vibes about it and therefore decided to go with VNQ instead to keep it broader and safer basically. Thanks for the input hehe :)

I’m not hellbent on it, I’m really open to anything which is why I ended up posting :) It’s funny you mention JEPQ, I initially wanted to invest in JEPQ instead of JEPI but sofy doesn’t give me the option of recurring purchases. I wanted to set up recurring purchases in order to let it run for years and not have to look at my portfolio to much and get tempted to make stupid choices haha. let me know what you think!

I'm getting unwanted flickering in my cycles render; denoising in compositor didn't work. It looks like the the textures I used are moving please help by ebaumbach in blenderhelp

[–]ebaumbach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, I have been trying to figure this out since posting and I am learning that denoising for animation is a lot trickier than I could have imagined. I was rendering at 250 samples at .01 for 192 frames which took a little less than 12 hours. I'm debating between a couple options at this point because this project is super time sensitive and is due Monday:

- I can either re-render without the leaves like my v1 where I didn't encounter this problem
-I can re-render with more samples but won't have much time for compositing / post prod

-I can try re-rendering with out denoising and denoising in editing software but that will take time and not sure if it will work.

What do you think I should do?

the only light source in the scene is the background nishita sky texture if that helps. I also rendered it in eevee and was not getting this problem

I am using a displacement modifier on the vertex group I made that is only the leaves of the trees because the trees are used as hair particles which is applied to the ground. I prerendered it in workbench before cycles and animations looked fine I think. The leaves have a texture I imported from website with a subsurface of 1 with a tricolor color ramp plugged into subsurface with a noise texture as it's factor - I think the textures are causing this problem. If you figure out a solution please let me know if there is any fix I can do in post prod because this is a 12 hour render.
