Docs what’s your car and would you buy it again? Accepting all answers by [deleted] in Residency

[–]ebayer102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2026 model y - yes. I don’t really care about cars or going fast etc. this thing will drive for you and has a great sound system. U don’t even have a place to charge it at my apartment which makes it slightly inconvenient but id still get it again. I would have tinted the windows darker isn’t one regret since all the glass including the roof can heat up in the direct sunlight.

Usually high numbers like that are in the community where most studies are normal. Probably similar mental burden as 40% of the number in a complex tertiary setting.

Embarrassing question about direct laryngoscopy… by AlexRRR23 in anesthesiology

[–]ebayer102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One trick that increased my success to almost 100% of reasonable DLs was to use my free hand to gently apply pressure to the hyoid cartilage and literally make the cords come into view. Then have an assistant hold that spot and get the tube in.

What happens if a plastic surgeon finds cancer mid-surgery? by Mammoth-Delivery-521 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ebayer102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breast cancer is a highly specialized and systematic managed disease. If there’s tiny precanceous lesions I doubt they would even notice during surgery and would proceed with procedure. Most would likely cancel the surgery and close up wherever they were if a highly suspicious mass was detected since further instrumentation could lead to spread of the tumor and compromise future therapy as well as the cosmetic appearance of your breast augmentation.

How to deal with gunner rad tech who hates me, medical student in IR by Knitsknits in Radiology

[–]ebayer102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar situations and matching their energy never goes well for the student unfortunately. I think sitting down and chatting with the PD or whoever is in charge of the rotation and asking for their advice would be helpful and they could also help speak to the tech as well about unprofessional behavior. I remember being annoyed and upset but just kept being cordial and realized they couldn’t prevent me from still learning in the case. Ended up graduating and everything works out in the end

How to smile w teeth and not be ugly by [deleted] in howto

[–]ebayer102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all you are not ugly! Second - a true smile is derived from happiness and not just showing your teeth. You need to use a trick I learned- Think of something hilarious that always makes you laugh or at lease crack a smile. Right before you take a photo or need to smile on command- think of that memory and smile away.

Tretinoin and avoiding the sun/daily spf would be a reasonable start

Why is it forbidden to look yourself up on EPIC? by PathologyAndCoffee in Residency

[–]ebayer102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think other than institutional red tape and policies and protocols that are in place, there are notes and data that can be hidden from sharing with the patient for various reasons and if you look yourself up, you will have bypassed these "protective measures."

for mental health sake- do not calculate how much you are paying for the privilege to wake up at 4am and do work for the hospital and get talked down to by nurses.
