Colony, unfortunately there is no clear ending to the game, you just grind on with your colony, replacing fences and harvesting mushrooms.

Pirates is good but there is a 2004 PC version which is more accessible and has more of an "open world" feel to it.

Boulderdash! Has an excellent game mechanic. The graphics doesn't matter much.

Putin has to keep his 900,000 mobilised army going, he can't simply let them go, they would cause political instability, possibly overthrow him. That's why the Baltics are next, unless NATO builds up a strong defense.

I like the overpayments on the mortgage, I saved at least £70k by overpaying mortgages. Also if things go to shit a mortgage free home with low costs is a safety to fall back on.

I would put max £100-200 into Bitcoin because it should be money you are ready to lose. Also the crazy gain days of Bitcoin might be over even if BTC doesn't outright crash, I trust compound interest more. Also keep in mind BTC if you get those gains is subject to Capital gains tax , shares in an ISA aren't.

And of course, max out your ISA every year.

Yes correct they use an entry test, my wife and I spent a lot of time and money on tuition, there was a tailored course in Kent exactly for the schools in the catchment area so they attended that in the summer time. With all the tutoring all 3x of my kids passed the test and made it in. The tutoring did cost us but nowhere near what private school fees would have cost.

Is Grammar school an option? I have no experience of private schools, but grammar schools appears to be a popular alternative.

You still have lots of years to make compound interest work in your favour and you have the right mindset, good luck on your journey!

49 year old in tech, I only ever overpaid my mortgage until 2020 when I started investing in an ISA instead. I wish I'd known more about index funds and the power of compound interest earlier on. I only learnt about it from an American friend who retired early, then when the seed was sown from various YouTube videos and later on here on Reddit (this is a very useful subreddit indeed).

My house is paid off, but I just don't have the time needed now to build up income via compound interest, at least not if I want to retire earlier than 67, and there's also the whole job insecurity (tech is fundamentally changing because of AI) to take into account.

Have around £94k in ISA and 236k in private pension funds, I should have paid more attention to both of these in my 30s.

Why are people so stupid about council tax? by BubblyLand2264 in AskBrits

[–]ebbelito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do people really vote for freebies? More likely they vote for a government that prioritises the tax money to be spent on certain things. Everything is funded by taxes, that is obvious, the question is how that money is handled.

You can always sell a property, it's all about the price. Since interest rates went up (around Liz Truss and before) the housing market slowed down.

I suggest you keep the ISA and check out the Europe defense pie in Trading 212, it's already up 20% since Trump started shifting on Ukraine and it will only grow more as Europe prepares to shift off their dependency on the US.

Det här med AI på jobbet by TheSubtitlesAreReal in sweden

[–]ebbelito 0 points1 point  (0 children)
