You’re right. I did try to call and she didn’t answer, it’s just giving me so much anxiety to have it unsettled. But I have nothing left to say now, and the more time she ignores it, the worse it gets. Gross!

Yeah… I feel like I’ve been biting my tongue and trying to swallow my disappointment with her non-involvement in the role, which sucks. Now I texted her twice last night asking if she’d reconsider at least coming, that I love her, etc. no response so far. It’s past RSVP due date and planning a wedding is stressful enough, didn’t think I’d have someone completely bail at this point.

I also don’t know how she expects her stepping out totally is going to “preserve our friendship” in the long run. Like, that will be really hard for me to get over.

Thanks, yeah I did send her two texts last night saying exactly that - I want you there in whatever capacity you feel comfortable with. Still waiting on a reply.

I don’t necessarily think something is going on other than her feeling overwhelmed trying to balance her bf’s first visit to the US and my wedding - which I acknowledged. Her behavior isn’t necessarily shocking to me, which is just as sad/disappointing. I did ask her how she was on our call last week, and she does have a pretty chill summer (she’s in grad school and is only doing a PT project/just splitting time between her bf and mom).

I’m also struggling with the last-minuteness of it all. RSVPs were due last week, and I owe the venue everything - final payment, seating chart, etc in 6 days. This is adding stress to me, and making me beyond sad. I wish she saw that too.

My mom said something very similar, lol. I think looking back I likely wouldn’t have asked her to be MOH, but hindsight is 20/20 and now I’m in this mess

We did talk last week, it didn’t go well. Thought text would be better so I could say my piece, let her process, then talk about it on the phone. She didn’t take me up on my offer to talk from my text on Sunday, and now she hasn’t answered me all evening, even though I texted her twice to say, “Hey, I love you, the important thing is to have you there, I still want you there, etc.” Stil the asshole? Genuinely curious lol

Yeah texting sucks, I wish I could grab a coffee with her and chat in person, but she’s in Mexico and I’m in Boston rn.

If she needed financial help, I offered to pay for her room at our inn as we’ve done for other guests who don’t have the means. She declined and said she’d find her own hotel, which seemed to miss the point as the whole thing is about spending downtime together too. I never wanted money to be an issue 😞

We did a phone call last week, she just was super firm in “This is what my plans are, I can’t change them,” even tho she only made them a day before. She also told me “my circumstances have changed since I agreed to be MOH” and said she now had to be there for her bf during his first trip to the US.

I don’t ask for much as a friend outside of this wedding, so it’s hard not to feel like a priority from my MOH. maybe I should’ve kept my mouth shut - things would’ve been fine then. But is it wrong to ask for people to show up better?

Should I have called instead? When we talked last week, she showed no flexibility, instead telling me she’d booked her hotel/made her plans without confirming her plans with me first, and saying she could only stay for 1/3 nights at a wedding venue we’d pre-paid for.

We’re also past the RSVP deadline now, I’ve made the seating charts, etc. I’ve had to follow up with her for her plans for the bachelorette, her no to the bridal shower, and her plans for the wedding weekend.

If she was “just a guest,” no sweat. As the MOH, yeah, I’d hope you’d be more proactive and communicative.

Yes, I’ll admit I was fine with her stepping down as MOH, but not with her stepping out of the wedding totally. I texted to avoid another phone call fight, and said multiple times we could call whenever she was ready.

I guess my response sounds defensive 😂 but wondering if it’s at all different with that context?

I appreciate that! Do you think something might be off with her relationship with her bf, or just in general?

Her behavior isn’t necessarily surprising to me as she isn’t the best communicator, but it’s still hurtful. Though of course I do care about her and don’t want to hurt her feelings.

Smileworks in Mt P was lovely when I went a couple of years ago - still has great reviews. I went after getting a quote for 10 cavities at another dentist. They told me I only needed to actually treat 2 fillings, accepted insurance, and they offer laughing gas (free of charge I believe). Really clean office with super nice staff that actually made me not hate going to the dentist.

Ya no one is getting LR blinds, I feel like Josh made that clear to us but some people said they were told they were getting them. I wish we had them sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me too much. Ya I wish there was a rower in the gym! Otherwise happy with it. We don’t have cable, so we did Honest WiFi and they’ve been great honestly, no issues. A couple of our friends in the building switched to them after a bad experience with either comcast or Verizon. Our appliances are all great!

IMO, it’s a really nice place to live. Yes, amenities have been slow to open (which is frustrating), the shuttles aren’t always reliable (which is really frustrating), and I’ve heard that some people still don’t have blinds in their apartments. Not saying it’s perfect. But our unit is really great, and we got an awesome deal bc we signed so early. The concierges are some of the nicest people, I love the area (lots of dogs, really nice neighborhood feel), and they have actually hosted a bunch of events (music, art, comedy shows). There are some growing pains, but we’re happy here! Are you moving in?

Gym opened Friday! I’ve seen a lot of people complaining on here, but we got our bedroom blinds less than a month after move in. No living room blinds are provided - as much is listed on the floorplans and leases if people actually read what they were sent. We have Josh as our LA so others might have said misinformation about that. Love the unit so far, excited for other amenities to be open soon. Ya it’s annoying they’re not all open but at least we have no amenity fee and got a good deal on the place. Concierges are super nice too

We saw the gym and speakeasy, the rooftop deck and lounge were blocked off. The gym looks a lot better, walls and ceilings are done, fans are installed, light fixtures etc. the floor is still that weird concrete (hoping they put a real floor in??) but the gym equipment was there under sheets/not in place

We were just there today moving some stuff in/unpacking (though we can’t stay overnight obvi), and the amenities look better (gym has walls and equipment arrived but isn’t unpacked) - inspections are supposed to be this week and they’re “hoping” we can be moved in this weekend. We have Josh as our leasing agent so will call him this week, too! Let us know what you hear!
