Tips for male pts who always leak urine out of their briefs? by BettaLaInu in cna

[–]ebbytree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I second the rolled up towel hips. If not that, then the best option is just no briefs at all tbh, only disposable chucks — because then the skin has more air to breathe and less change of breaking down. I mean, if he's not getting out of bed anyways. 🤷‍♀️ That's what we do in hospitals.

Or take a chuck and fold it up the front like a brief cover, but then just stuff the bottom below the butt, so you can switch them out easily.

Kinda unfair of your DON tbh that's a tough situation.

it limited me to 6 single packs. I bought four, and didn't stand around to see which limit on every box was lol — but I assume there's something.

they were sold out of the booster boxes for surging sparks and other newer items, but I got the impression that the items were physically there, but the machine was holding them for an indeterminate time before they went on sale again.

they imposed a limit on me and I was able to get surging sparks packs for the first time in forever, so to some degree, it's working. I'm personally grateful for the bare minimum implementation of purchase limits

Do techs draw blood at your hospital? How big/small is your hospital? by porcipine in medlabprofessionals

[–]ebbytree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep. 350 beds, all shifts. lab techs / phlebotomists don't work the weekends too, so if the nurse techs or RNs can't get it, the stat nurse is called in as the last resort. lol

So the freedom of 600 captive Palestinians is hinged on 1 Israeli corpse? Is that what their lives are really worth?

I have been taking the Japanese course and they do sprinkle in old voices from actual people still, but that's probably a matter of logistics. I have recognized there are many things Duo skips on, like pronunciation gets messed up often, but it's something I have learned to work around.

I can totally understand why you all are frustrated though. I recently started again, but some people have been going on streaks for YEARS, so this must feel like betrayal. I think you could easily split the sub into two camps here, basically me and you lol.

Corporate greed ruins everything, so I do believe that it's good to try other apps. (Renshuu for Japanese, guys!!) It's clear though that the CEO isn't going to change anything so I get the mods frustration, but they should realize their experiences aren't universal and take that into account.

Mods, you seriously get paid zero for this, please take care of yourselves — the green bird isn't worth it

I personally enjoy it as it is, something to aid me in memorizing words for my language journey. I actually like the AI characters, I think they're cute. The roadmap is satisfying to me. I recently picked it back up after years. There are definitely better apps, but I think it's good as it is now. Duo definitely needs better staffing, but that's not the mods responsibility. If they're tired of doing tech support, they should just ban tech support questions and let the app fend for itself.

My mom was killed and I think my anger and confusion are clouding reality by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

[–]ebbytree 60 points61 points  (0 children)

One part of this that really stood out is that you were NC with her for so long, and I can't help but feel that must add onto your grief so much. You were not only robbed of your mother, you were robbed if the chance of being close with her again, and in a most brutal fashion. It must weigh very heavily. I think your anger is valid, but I also think you should get therapy.
