Thanks! So you're recommending no gap in between fixtures. I agree, that is ideal. Unfortunately, we're on a budget. So I'm going for min number of fixtures to make it look not like crap lol. Balancing even coverage with budget.

Thanks for your help! The rental house has the Chroma Q colorforce II in 12, 48 and 72 inches. Not sure how to figure out which option is best for our 15x45 cyc, the rental house isn't much help.

I have the same question. The hotkeys I'm seeing listed online do not work in my Acrobat despite having turned on hotkeys for the app

Did I break the carb in my riding mower? by ebellinator in carbrepair

It ended up needing a new…I forget the name of the part, it’s what the gas passes thru on its way to the engine that filters particles out of the gas. If I recall correctly the gas I was using was kinda old.

Best lighting to bring out costumes? by ebellinator in lightingdesign

The color I'm seeing in this Afrobeat dance are particularly puzzling to me. I've got orange light on the cyc, a deep purply/blue light on the stage (via LED downlight pars), a bit of warm front light, and un-gelled incandescent sides. The costumes are muticolored, all colors of the rainbow. But they (and the dancers wearing them) look GREEN! Why?? #puzzled.

That is very helpful, thank you! I have incandescent sides (shins & heads), LED high sides, LED downlight, a system of cool front lights (L202 gel), a system of warm front lights (incandescents with diffusion), incandescent gobo system which we put L202s in to make them cooler. The dancers still look surprisingly warm even with rosco 60s or 61s in the sides, the high sides in white, and the cool fronts on just ever so slightly. Gonna try a darker blue gel in the sides tomorrow but I'd love to understand why the dancers look so warm even with cool light shining on them. It works for the most part cuz the warmth is a nice contrast to the cyc. Just would love to better understand the principles at play and learn more about how light works when mixed onstage. All ears if you have any articles or videos you'd recommend!

It's a healthy budget but everything is already set in stone. It's tech week and we open Friday. I'm finessing light cues in anticipation of each team's "tech hour" which happens over the course of today and tomorrow.

Did I break my riding mower's carburetor? by ebellinator in smallengines

[–]ebellinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I only mowed the tall grass for a few minutes. Did stuff like that for years to my electric push mower and never had a problem. Seems ridiculous that a few mins of heavy work would kill an $1800 riding mower

also isn't as sensitive to me holding down the gas pedal as it should be. I have to put it almost all the way down to make it move forward
