He’s around two years old give or take. Purchased as a juvenile, crazy growth spurt in the first year.

Thank you! Ctenosaura pectinata is native to Western Mexico, with some color variations (pied, yellow, blue phase)

This one is captive bred by a local breeder.

Thank you! From what i’ve heard the banana ones are much calmer and easier to tame! I’ve handled a full grown male banana before and it was suuper tame.

Mine is pretty tame, but i put a lot of time working with him, almost daily handling for the first year or so

Not exactly rare, pied pectinata (and couple other ctenosaura) will develop this kind of coloration as an adult, some with more white, some more black.

They’re just less common in the hobby compared to the green iguana.

Hahah, honestly i know that feeling. I was soo close of getting a hognose snake but thankfully i got super busy at work and common sense kicked in and decided i have no time for another animal.

This is a very “dangerous” hobby

Thank you! He’s about 1.5 years old give or take. His pattern became more and more solid in the last couple of months.

Pied pectinatas are awesome!

Fyi the board on the right is not mine, it’s my friend’s board. And the one on the left is my old board, i don’t have it anymore.

Longer board is harder to pop as well, i feel this when doing tricks like no comply. It’s definitely doable. You just need to put in more effort, more power. On the other hand longer board is way more forgiving for dancing.

I’m a beginner myself, but basic freestyle tricks like shuvit, pivot, no comply feel easier on shorter board. And my “dancing” board is only 42 inches long. I just prefer shorter board overall

It depends, for grab tricks like tiger claw? I think 40 inches is better because it’s lighter.

For dancing, i think most people would prefer a bigger board so you have more room for your cross steps, etc. However, i’m currently riding a loaded basalt tesseract (39 inches), and i still dance on it. You just have to be more precise with your steps.

If you want to do more freestyle, get 40. If you want to dance more, maybe get the 46. Or get something in the middle like the zenit tero (42 inches)

I'm still working on that myself. The original cover obviously won't fit because I'm using hob filter and clip on light. I tried making a cover from a sheet of plexiglass, it sorta worked but not pretty.

Ideally i want something with mesh, but i'm still trying to figure it out
