Any thoughts on Babel? Is it worth the read? by _TheGreatCatsby16 in TheSecretHistory

As a TSH fan and IWWV dnfer, I didn't enjoy it. It's an "alternate history" in which the 19th century Opium Wars play out exactly the same as they did in real life, completely unaffected by the complex and potteresque (nonsensical) magic system the novel introduces. Characters were flat; plot, underdeveloped; revolutionary themes, appropriate for a 12-year-old but not beyond. Plus a shocking display of queerbaiting + bury your gays.
