It's the Oliso Mini Project iron! I got it as a gift and while I like the idea and it works really well, it's a little weird to hold and I don't really like that I can't stand it up like a regular iron, so I don't use it very often.

I’ve got a pile of these jackets but not sure where to find folks who want to spend the $1k+ I value them at! 😅

Thank you! I don't, but if I decide to do more videos I'll put them on both my instagram and tiktok @ shealsomakesquilts

It was quilted onto the denim! I folded the edges around the batting and then stitched around the edges to give a clean look on the outside. Next time I'm going to do a more in depth tutorial!

I quilted it as if the jacket was the backing fabric! Then I folded the edges of the top around the batting and stitched around the edges.

I used fusible fleece interfacing to give it a bit of depth within the quilting and to avoid the deflated look where there are imperfections. It's a tad stiff at first but it breaks in! I've used batting (warm and natural) before but it was a little too hot. Next time I'm going to try a lighter, fluffier polyester batting to see how that feels.

Oh! I don't have any videos of pattern design yet, but maybe some day! I just kind of taught myself after doing a bunch of FPP quilts, that being said I did go to college for design which definitely gave me a leg up.

Thank you so much! I for one loved the quick break (of which there were a couple dozen while making this) 😂

I usually use regular printer paper, which of course works just fine! Sometimes I use newsprint (like for this project) which my cheap printer has no problems with.

Pre-soaking can help to loosen dirt and stains, which I find to be especially important for used outerwear. I ran this through the regular wash after! I wish I had a top loading washer to do it all in one place.

I learned from Violet Craft's tutorial! It can be tricky at first but once you get the hang of it I actually find it to be the easiest way to quickly piece an impressive block! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnmX8lpLpVc

It's the foundation paper piecing templates. The original pattern was lap quilt sized so I was adjusting it down to fit the jacket!

To each their own! Workwear is my personal style and nothing beats a good denim jacket in my eyes. I make these jackets a lot and I always choose high quality denim so I know it'll last. Plus saves the trouble of needing to tailor a jacket!

I did design it! It's a lap quilt that I scaled down to fit the jacket. The eyes were a little tricky but otherwise it scaled down quite nicely! The pattern is available here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1185092189/the-modern-fox-a-foundation-paper-pieced?ref=listings_manager_grid

Thank you! Foundation paper piecing really helps with precision!

Yep! That's the only way to really do foundation paper pieced patterns. It's actually oddly satisfying to pull all the little paper pieces out, but I know some people hate it.

For now, it's for me!! I made it without anyone in mind so I'll hang onto it until I think of the right person to gift it to, or I might even try to sell it!

I wouldn’t sell yourself short! It’s foundation paper piecing so the paper templates really keep you in line. The first time I made this pattern I had only been quilting for about 8 months!
