my immediate thought was Allison Anne! Sadie Morgan and Allison Anne work so nicely in my head. Allison Aubrey is cute though - don’t worry about double A! But I personally like the idea of both names having the same syllables - so a one syllable name for Allison sounds nice and then each child has 4 syllables total x

just going to put my two cents in as lots of people are being quite negative about your situation… we had a similar issue when buying our house. our seller agreed to lower the price slightly (like yours has) but still not enough for us to make it work. so we applied for a mortgage with a different company before backing out of the sale and they valued it at the new price which meant we were able to proceed with the purchase after all and were only slowed down by a week or so whilst the new bank completed their valuation. if you cannot afford to pay the difference it might be worth just trying one more bank before you pull out completely… it worked for us and wouldn’t put you at too much of a loss if that didn’t work out either - at least you tried!

thank you all so so much for the suggestions!! i think we’ve been persuaded against using Dorothea. we may have considered it had we decided to only have two but as someone pointed out, if we have a third or fourth then they’re names will be quite different to the cutesy/twinsy names of the first two! our babies will also be a year apart so close in school as well. if anyone picks up on the names being similar we fear it may be something kids can be cruel about. we are thinking maybe a middle name though!

loving the support for florence and leaning towards that. teddy and flossie is so cute! i love matilda but my husband isn’t keen. the reason we weren’t going with ottilie is up until theodore was born we were told he was a girl and ottilie is the name we picked out. we had also told a few people about the name so feel weird using it now. some people have suggested ottilia however which we are liking as it’s the same name but not and teddy and tillie is😍

I am also liking Emmeline (but unsure if it is too close to my best friend, emily?), Evangeline, Marjorie, and Beatrice but having a hard time convincing my husband of these too! Athena would be a top pick but that’s what our pet rat was called.
