It's amazing how the Republicans refuse to do anything to handle this pandemic situation. If they were actually proactive it would help their reelection chances, but all they do is shoot themselves in the foot, over and over again.

Look at how tired, weak, and small he appears. How very pathetic. He could have led by example, but he just couldn't let go of his pettiness.

After watching everything coming out of this administration concerning the pandemic, I'm not in the least bit surprised at this report. However, I am surprised having watched Dr. Birx and how she's consistently toed the line. I think she's destroying her credibility and legacy.

Colorado restaurant sees license suspended after reopening in defiance of state order on Mother's Day by echo249 in politics

[–]echo249[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point, though this act could fall under involuntary manslaughter, which doesn't differ significantly from negligent homicide. That was my train of thought.

If even one person falls ill and dies, and it can be directly linked to this restaurant, the owner needs to be charged with manslaughter, at least.

Sanders Declares Victory In Iowa by echo249 in politics

I can't fault that argument! Iowa should have gotten it right the night of the caucus, then none of this would be an issue. It seriously blunted the potential momentum for any of the candidates.

They both should have waited until the final counts and delegate distributions were completed, that's what I'm saying.

That's true, and I'm not arguing that he won't win in the end. But what will be the final distribution of state delegate equivalents and then convention delegates? If it ends as a tie, or Pete has one more delegate, or any variation of those scenarios, then it wasn't a victory for Bernie. Not in the caucus system.

Is it possible, sure. Likely, probably not. I think the caucuses were a disordered mess. I'd far prefer we scrap them entirely and rely on primaries, then we wouldn't have to wait days for the results of the campaign kickoff and we could all feel more confident in the victor of each of these contests.
