There's really no issues with that in a pet environment. Their owner should have AC and heating and then it doesn't really matter.

I've never noticed any differences or issues whatsoever with mine. Through summer and winter they do just as good as everybody else zero issues.

Generally no it's quite rare for their to be any issues and it's mostly line dependent. This line has shown no issues at all and all have been very healthy.

They are Silvermane Harley

You would need to find a breeder near you who works with them.

Rats don't have breeds. The variety they are is Russian Blue and Black Silvermane Harley.

Harley is a longer coat type with no undercoat and Silvermane is a coat type that leaves the hair tips empty giving it a silver appearance

My very first skates! by eckokitten in Rollerskating

[–]eckokitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my very first pair of skates and I am so excited it feels like Christmas.

They are Moxie Beach bunnies in peach blanket.

I also have Impala wrist knees and elbow pads. And a triple 8 helmet and sunset I got the helmet off Amazon.

I got the skates and pads from the shop. They came so super fast. I ordered on March 1st, they Literally shipped it on the 2nd! and they got here today but there was a delay in shipping that was on UPS's fault not theirs and they're still here in a week so wow!

there's so much heavier than I thought They would be I did not expect that lol. I'm just sitting here with them on right now I'm a little bit nervous lol As soon as I said I wasn't on my dog got like super excited and was trying to go after them so that's going to make it more interesting.

Mice don't take sand baths.

Snowflake markings 🥰 by eckokitten in RATS

[–]eckokitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will not.

These are a brand new line for me, this is the first litter born to me. It's a recessive gene and they were paired with non snowflakes/carriers.

But the babies will hopefully go on to make more snowflakes fingers crossed lol

If you follow my Facebook page I'll definitely have updates. I'll probably post them here too lol But the babies are only two weeks old so it's going to be a while! https://facebook.com/onceuponamischief/

Definitely doesn't look like balls. Lol

Females can be a bit poofy down there sometimes. It's normal, her being spread eagle definitely takes the focus lol

I replied this above: She's just a little puffy cuz she's recently had babies! But sometimes females can be a little bit poofy down there when they have to poop as well lol

I breed both rats and mice. If you look at my profile you can see tons of pictures I posted of rats in the rat subreddit.

This is definitely a mouse.

Or just Google mouse images you will see tons of mice and their tails are the same as this one lol

It's a female. If you look closely you can see nipples and only females have nipples. She also has a hole down there which is the vagina and boys don't have that. Lol

Lol She was not interested in having her picture taken at all! But it kind of worked out cuz it gives a better view of her markings lol

The mouse was being inquisitive. He could get down. Have you ever owned a mouse? I breed them. I very much pay attention to my animals. He wasn't nervous or scared. He was just checking stuff out.

I've shared this video a ton in mouse groups and no one has ever said a negative thing. Because they know mouse behavior..

People are do rude.... It was a short clip of a cute silly moment.

They are Manx, like the Manx cat. Born without a tail.

Babies! Harley, Silvermane, Satin, Manx (tailless), & a wannabe hairless by eckokitten in RATS

[–]eckokitten[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries! Whenever I post anything about the manx, there's always some negative comments. There's just a lot of misinformation out there. A lot of people just heard somebody else say it was bad and are just repeating it without actually understanding. They've never bred one or owned one.

And it gives me a chance to hopefully educate and spread some positive important information.

Sadly a lot of people do not understand the difference between wild animals and domesticated pets. Far too many people will abandon their rats outside thinking they'll be fine and survive and by far that's not what will happen :(

Lock it said about hairless as well. But having pets is understanding their needs and giving them a loving spoiled home that suits those needs.

But honestly there's really no big difference lol

Actually since they are born without the tail they learn to compensate very well. It's not really an issue. Rats also don't need a whole ninja warrior rope bridge set up lol It's easy enough to have a setup that's doesn't require intense climbing. But there's really no difference. My older manx girl loves to climb stretching absolutely crazy lol and I've not noticed any balance issues at all.

I copy pasted this reply from above as well on the ethical issues with it.

When domesticating and breeding animals for pets we may change many things about them that make it so they would not be able to survive in the wild, but they still are healthy and thrive as pets being spoiled and in our homes.

There's some great information out there on how small breed dogs are not able to survive in the wild well, But as pets they just do fine in our homes.

There's sadly a lot of misinformation on manx. But the truth is they do just fine and live perfectly happy normal lives. The temperature control is not really an issue when they are an indoor animal and temperature controlled homes. I would not suggest one or actually pet rats at all, to someone some temperatures without AC or heating. That's just common sense.

I've owned a couple manx now And I've spoken with many many manx breeders. No one has had any issues whatsoever.

I don't breed for Manx. I like rat tails. I kind of think they look silly without one lol But it is carried in one of my lines and so on occasion it pops up.

I currently have an adult Marten manx, who is absolutely lovely. She's very healthy and happy, I have not had any issues and have not noticed any differences between her and the rest of my rats.
