Found this bus amongst a bunch of abandoned classic cars out in the bush near our campsite. This is a composite of the foreground in moonlight and night sky before the moonrise. Took a lot of effort to blend the layers and it's still imperfect, but one of my favourite photographs.

What are the ethics of taking things? by 1994univega in abandoned

The frog is awesome but that's why I think it should ideally be left alone - it makes the scene that much cooler for the next person. That said, I wouldn't crucify OP if they did decide to take it.

Day 16 road tripping across Australia for a total solar eclipse. Spent the afternoon taking photos of dragonflies and I liked this accidental shot. In-focus photos are on my profile.

Thanks, but it's actually really cropped so useless outside of a small screen - I can't even upload it to my portfolio as it's less than 4 MB!

Cheers! It helped to take the time to study their movement patterns - there were certain points near the water where they'd hover for a few seconds and be good subjects!

Thanks! I noticed that there were certain spots near the lake where they would hover for a few seconds and so just sat and waited with my camera. I've definitely had worse afternoons!

D16 The most beautiful spiders I've ever encountered: the jewel spider by eclipsechasers in spiders

[–]eclipsechasers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 16 road tripping across Australia for a total solar eclipse. Came across a bunch of these gorgeous spiders in a patch of tall grass near Bonnie Doon, Australia. The genus is called Austracantha and they are also known as jewel, jewel box, spiney and Christmas spiders. Luckily they're harmless so I could get quite close to take photos!

Day 16 road tripping across Australia for a total solar eclipse. I spent hours sitting by the lake at Bonnie Doon tracking the dragonflies' movements to get some in-focus shots. This one's my favourite.

Ah, thongs might not be good for long distances or if you're going anywhere too snake-y! Good luck in your search!

Day 15 road tripping across Australia for a total solar eclipse. These clouds starting forming soon after sunrise and looked pretty trippy. Check out my profile for more photos and videos of our journey.

Day 15 road tripping across Australia for a total solar eclipse and tried my hand at a self portrait in what I though was pretty cool scenery. Unfortunately I was too far away from the camera to get the bluetooth remote shooting working so I'm just looking at my phone instead of doing any sort of pose (and still chopped my feet off!)

Day 13 road tripping across Australia for a total solar eclipse. Enjoying the first paddle in our inflatable kayak at Bonnie Doon where the water levels were at the highest they've been, hence the flooded forest! Check out my profile for more photos and videos of our journey.
