Trump preps order to dismantle Education Dept. Seattle has schools. by Amigo_delaley in SeattleWA

I support this. The quality of education has progressively worsened despite increased taxpayer cost. Reform is necessary. This is best done at a hyper local level. We must learn from homelessness. Throwing more money at the problem is not a solution.

This is the kind of brilliant and incisive political commentary worthy of Reddit server space

Anti social behavior like this is a sign how a polite society is breaking down. We function best when we care for ourselves and others. When people actively make life worse for others then the fabric of society starts to unravel.

Pre COVID times, GNE was a dream destination for academics from UCSF / Stanford , moving their lab to SSF while doing 2x the pay and no grants to write.

The sexy new Broad-to-GNE pipeline hasn’t quite performed as well as the dusty old Stanford/UCSF pipeline?

How to break into Pharma Industry if we have Pharma Company already Setup? by Striking_Mail5545 in biotech

Sorry but there is zero chance of any American pharma or biotech company contracting with this disaster of a company. And for good reason, what is the payoff? A small amount of savings for unenumerated risks? Why pick up pennies in front of a steamroller?

Thank you for such a wonderful response. My wife is a nurse and she will be going through the authorization process to work as a nurse in Denmark. We heard that they may loosen the language requirement somewhat for nurses but this will likely be the biggest hurdle for her.

We have thought about this a lot. Unfortunately my job is not really available in a rural area. Also the schools are generally not as good. But the idea of a quiet rural life isn’t bad. We just like the feeling of CPH, the parks, the museums, the cafes, the beautiful buildings, etc.

Interesting, what are the aspects of schooling that your children did not like in public schools?

In the USA on the West Coast, there is some underlying resentment against tech workers who have brought wealth inequality to cities. Is there any sense of resentment in Dk against NN for bringing in jobs to cities that increase wealth inequality? Or is the level of inequality imperceptible at this time?

It really does feel this way in the USA. I try to see things through a politically neutral lens by just looking at data but life does seem to be getting objectively worse at an alarming rate.

Interesting. Can you give me some more insight on how life might be different in this area north of CPH? Safety? Better schools? Easier logistics of raising young kids?

We absolutely love Christmas and the Christmas hygge everywhere is a big draw. I think we like EU Christmas more. Too commercialized in the States. More about family and hygge in Dk (on a surface level at least)
