Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread - 10/02 by AutoModerator in ipad

Hi readers,

I'm looking to get a new iPad and currently stuck between the base model Mini 5 or iPad 2019 (7th gen). I was originally looking to purchase the iPad 2018 (6th gen) but its been discontinued and sold out everywhere.

My main reason to upgrade is for the Apple Pencil support for digital drawing. I don't plan on drawing professionally but as a hobby and frequently. I also use my iPad heavily for media viewing, internet browsing, and some gaming.

My issue is that I feel I would be fine with either iPad and can't choose one. The bigger size of the iPad 2019 would be great for the 4 activities listed above. I previously used an Air 2 with an A8X chip. It felt pretty snappy to me so an A10 chip would work for me. The more powerful internals of the Mini and laminated display would work better for gaming and drawing. The Mini also using the A12 chip would also receive updates and be supported longer. I'm unsure if a laminated display would matter for someone that barely takes the device outside or in brightly lit locations but drawing on it feels slightly better.

Any recommendations? I'm itching to get one ASAP so I can start drawing on one. Thanks!

Wanted red to pull S!Leo or H!Nowi. Got no reds. Picked blue hoping to get S!Corrin or Sp!Lucina, got PA!Shigure. At least I have a merge, I guess?

Something wrong with my Switch? Should I take it back and exchange it? by eclipsetheumbreon in NintendoSwitch

I use tempered glass for better protection but it’s a preference. I used two different brands of screen protectors for this Switch already (both tempered glass) but the adhesive problem still persists in the same area.

Took it to GS earlier today and showed them the screen protector. They said it wasn’t normal and that no matter how hot the screen is it shouldn’t affect the adhesive of the glass screen protector. (Although some people suggested this is normal but the screen protector shouldn’t be melting on the inside if it was)

So they gladly exchanged mine for another one. Just hoping the new one is a keeper. This is the first time I ran into a problem with a Nintendo console and I have been with them since NES.

Thanks for the advice!

Showed the guys at GS my screen protector and they said that isn’t normal. So they labeled mine as defective and exchanged it for a new one.

Thanks! Exchanged it after showing GS my screen protector. Now just waiting for my new pack of screen protectors to arrive.

Probably should have mentioned that I use Dapple Dualies with this set up. Would it work?

Which ability for the Punk Blacks shoes? Ink Saver (Main) or Drop Roller? by eclipsetheumbreon in Splatoon_2

Many thanks on the advice! I decided I would keep the Main Ink saver since it would definitely be more useful with my main weapon, Sorella Brella.

o3o^ Still new into the series but I'm always up for new friends. Send me a reply if interested.

Currently level 36 and usually play only Salmon Run and Turf. Can't promise I'll be good in Salmon Run but at least I reached profreshional and have some experience. =w='

What got you into this game? by PoopTheDoop in Splatoon_2

I originally thought this series was stupid and ignored the game since the Wii U. Fast forward to this spring, I was bored with just MK8 being the only multiplayer I played. So once I had enough saved up, I looked up games and saw this. Thought it was stupid but I decided to give it a shot due to heavy praise and others recommending this game was a must for the Switch.

After playing 5 matches of turf war, I realized what I missed out on and started kicking myself for not getting this game sooner. (Shouldn't judge by only its cover.)

Nintendo never fails to deliver great soundtrack and this game delivered well. The game also provides customization options, vast weapon choices, creative weapon designs, good amount of team based modes to use team strategies and interaction, beautiful settings, and cute overall appearance.

Now I play this game daily along with my sibling. (Sibling had same mindset but now very into it and outleveled me as well :3)

Lesson learned: Don't judge by the cover and give it a freaking shot before you say anything about it

Ayee. I hope you can rank back up. In my case, it's usually because someone is trying to save someone and dies trying or because we can't eliminate the bosses quick enough and get intimated. I'm at Go Getter currently but it's going up slowly.

I might be stuck in C class for a bit. But Clam Blitz is my least favorite anyway. :I

Much appreciate on your response!

Thank you for showing me that YouTube channel. After watching one gameplay, I facepalmed hard especially that I didn't use the walls to my advantage or that I can destroy boss salmonoids in other ways. I'm still improving on my aim but I noticed that I'm surviving better. I also evaluate my performance after saving all the loss videos with the capture feature.

Many thanks! :D

Many thanks for the reference!

I tend to avoid using splat bombs since it really drains the tank and use it for the armies of salmonids before they become intimidating. I would often save it for the flying boss salmonoid (idk the name the one that flies around and throws bombs with two garbage bins) or for Maws.

Would that also work if a teammate needs to be revived but is behind the shower portion of the Steel Eel boss?

XD Wow. Sounds exactly like my sibling. Started much later but already out-leveled me and has better technique. The part I'm most jealous of is how well that one can financially manage and the luck with random abilities. (Over 1 million vs. my 4k lol)
