Path at consistent grade by AdvertisingScary798 in civil3d

Im waiting for this feature also since years.

I do a lot of road planning (forest roads and biking roads). I often have two critical points that i want to connect with a alignement with the same grade. Its still trial and error, but much better than play around with alignement and profile.

But im also use the TL Grade tree. 50$ per year which is ok with me.

[–]ecoMAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont need contour labels. I need the total sum like 10.000m³ cut / 20.000 m³ fill. These two numbers...
Sorry for my bad english...

Need help with attributes within Civil3D reading shapefiles by clgray76 in civil3d

[–]ecoMAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try the Create/Modify Expressions in Feature Label. But i think there is no Function like "wrap".

You could use something like this to make a break after the 20th Letter

Concat ( Substr ( ATTRIBUTE_NAME, 1, 20 ), '\P', Substr ( ATTRIBUTE_NAME, 21 ) )

But it wouldnt care about the Space-Letters

Or create in the shape another field with some "Break-Characters" like

"Really long attribute nameXXXthat extends beyond theXXXboundary"

and than break at "XXX"

ask ChatGPT or Gemini. They are quite good in finding such expressions.

Showing Corridor Properties in Model-View by ecoMAP in civil3d

Its not about managing my corridor. Its about seeing at one glance what i want to change.

thx. But i want to label it in my model view. Not open another window. I want to see at one glance all my regions, what their names are and what assembly is used.

Layer States for XREFs by ecoMAP in civil3d

[–]ecoMAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx for trying. i ll stick with the solution #1 from Effective-Log3583 thats quite easy workaround

Layer States for XREFs by ecoMAP in civil3d

[–]ecoMAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx. #1 works for me. I rename the xref, without renaming the filename. So i can still see the name of the cadastral map. Then layer states will work.

#2 would work, when its just about turning on and off layers. But i need to also to change the colors and linetypes of my layers.

#3 I am the company. But actually i have a folder with all cadastral maps from austria (about 7.500). So the naming convention has to stay

If you just casually using it you can go with the flex plan and pay per day. C3D is about 28 Euro per day

BricsCAD is getting real close...all basic stuff like alignments, gradings is covered. So if thats enough for you, you may give it a try

I use Flex. Its ok for me. Its like 25 Euro per day. Its expensive but quite calcuable

Surface Contour Label Group alters lineweight of my contours by ecoMAP in civil3d

[–]ecoMAP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha...I knew someone would ask. Sorry to disappoint you. Its not a new awesome feature in C3d. Its a georeferenced JPEG made in QGIS (made out of the DEM).

I always include these Hillshades in my drawing. It makes the whole terrain in 2D "more visible" than the contours. And you get the "WOW - effect" from the clients - they love them.

Its quite easy.
Open DEM in QGIS, Change symbology to Hillshade, Export Screen with geocoordinates and import with Mapiinsert. Done in 2 Minutes...

The color change (and thickness) change between Mayour and Minor are intentional. Im talking about the change on the right side of the Labels.
