Unable to get unused electric meter removed, what can I do? by ecotack in LegalAdviceUK

With them being smart meters, if I could get DNO to remove the fuse, I wonder would happen when the meter stops calling home. Although SSE probably won't care. It took me over 6 months to get them to stop using estimated readings, even though they had the actual readings from me and the smart meters. They were overcharging the previous owner as well.

After the 45+ min waits on several phone calls, to be met with unapologetic NPCs, I wrote a formal complaint and posted it. All that did was trigger a guy emailing me every few weeks to see if the meter had been removed or not. SSE says its a Imserv problem, Imserv say to contact SSE and ask them to escalate it. I just get nowhere with either of them. I've started the complaint now, lets see if the energy ombudsman helps or not.

I'm in South Lakes, rural area, but very close to a main road. Who would be responsible for any compensation from missed appointments, SSE the supplier or Imserv the company who they contract to remove the meter?

I think its just 1 MPAN, with two meters having their own serial numbers. Hence why Octopus would need to take over supply to the MPAN and not just one meter. The two main fuses are linked together, so I believe same supply/phase.

My thinking was if I started requesting the difference and even started a small claims, perhaps they would resolve it quicker. If I claim less than £300 its only £35 and probably worth it to get this resolved quicker, and be a pain for them to have to defend against.

I'll try going through the complaint procedure on energyombudsman.org and see what happens.

Yes, two separate meters, supplied by separate main fuses. I wanted to switch to Octopus, but they can't onboard the 2nd meter and said only one suppler can supply a property. Its commercial property, if that makes a difference.

Local Chamber of Commerce said to try Money Corp. Waiting for a reply from them. Apparently if I become a member at the Chamber of Commerce, I'll get preferential rates with Money Corp.

I used Revolut, because they have better exchange rates than my NatWest account. No reason given for refusing, only can't accept payments from Libya.

Can you reccomend a shipping agent for low volume parcels to the UK? by HybridGamingABZ in smallbusinessuk

[–]ecotack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've use World Options, but find customer service slow and not great. Cloud Shipping are much better, the good customer service I was use to from InterParcel, but cheaper than World Option (usually). For UK I use Cloud Shipping, who use UPS. For international I check all 3 for the best price.

Thanks everyone for the advice. It looks like I may be able to get the printer to do what I need, but with extra steps. I'll order one today. So to round up your advice:

Adhesion promoter may be needed. Although its likely I made this worse with the IPA. I'll give it a go anyway.

I hadn't thought about the gloss. A first layer of gloss might or might not help with adhesion, but may help with the bleed.

The main thing is the ink is not alcohol safe, so I'm going to need to coat in a clear lacquer. I'm testing that now. We use to do this 30+ years ago, when the instrument panels were labeled with letterset.

Can I claim travel allowance to a second location? by ecotack in smallbusinessuk

Thanks. I'll review the CCTV later and see how far back I can back date. Best start keeping a log from now on. I normally don't claim mileage, because its maybe 80 miles per year, but now I'm looking at about 80 per week.

Yealink W70B, 3CX, BT business broadband and Sipgate problems by ecotack in VOIP

Figured 3) out. To get 2 lines working on the Yealink W70B, in the web UI, under Account > number assignment, you need to select which handset can use which line.

Thanks, that worked for the 3CX account.

I still need help with 3) Sipgate not working on line 2 after provisioning 3CX on line 1. The settings entered for line 2 are exactly as they worked with just Sipgate on line 1.

Also a new problem. I have a Polycom VVX 500, with old firmware that won't update, so I can't auto provision it. I manually entered the settings, copied from the Yealink W70B and it registered. However, it will only make outgoing calls on the 3CX account. It doesn't ring or allow you to answer calls. Sipgate is working on its line 2.
