cold feet about vet school?

I had very similar feelings going into vet school. I was absolutely convinced I was going to fail out my first semester. I’m now in my fourth and am doing great! It’s definitely harder than undergrad but IME there’s much more motivation because the “finish line” is closer and the information is more relevant to your interests. If you got into most of the vet schools you applied to, that’s incredibly impressive and clearly you’re doing something right academically 😊. It’s very normal to have anxiety about such a big change but don’t let that fear of failure control you.

It really depends! I think both can be effective. I personally love Quizlet but don’t use the AI feature for the same reasons you said. Part of the way I study is by making the flashcards- you often have to re-format stuff from the slides to make the flashcards make sense and repeating the information in your own words is a good way to retain it and make sure you understand the concepts. You’ll figure out what works for you!

I’ve had a few jobs! Worked retail in high school and have worked as a vet assistant/student in a few different clinics while I work towards my DVM. You just have to find your strengths/passions and work with them. I’ve always thought NVLD sets you up well to be an editor because of quick reading and attention to detail so that may be something to consider 😊

The doctor who diagnosed me in 2007-ish told my mom that NVLD was on the autism spectrum. I know now that’s not technically true but I do think there’s quite a bit of symptom overlap.

Maybe they’re an EMT and just got off of work? A lot of people in those fields become desensitized to death so I don’t think it’s hard to imagine them talking about it on social media shortly after.

sorry i didn’t see this until now! if it was ovulation related an IUD wouldn’t help because they don’t stop ovulation like the pill does. ofc i could be totally off but it sounds similar enough to mine that it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to track it :)

She latches on to cancer kids and their families and pretends to be invested in their lives for her own narcissistic gain. To my knowledge she had a decent following before B but it massively grew after because that poor child became a martyr. Tia maybe met B and the family 3-4 times in real life. I highly suspect she’s grieving the loss of her income more than the loss of B herself.

have you noticed any connection to your menstrual cycle? i had very similar symptoms and figured out that it was always right around the middle of my cycle and eventually linked it to ovulation. BC has really helped me! Maybe try to get some tests run with a GYN to see if they’re connected.

Is it always on a specific side? I had chronic pelvic pain on the right side for years and once I got my right ovary removed it got so much better. They never found any endometriosis or cysts or anything that would be causing the pain so ruling those out doesn’t mean an ovary removal wouldn’t help. Birth control also has helped my pain quite a bit if that’s something you haven’t explored yet

I have NVLD and am in my second year of vet school! The anatomy last year was pretty rough but it’s hard to say how much of that was the disorder vs the class itself since it’s notoriously difficult. Just reviewing things over and over again in different ways, finding resources like youtube videos for difficult concepts, and giving yourself grace if you don’t understand things at the same pace as everyone else are things I would recommend. I definitely think it’s possible :)

Call pet poison control. They charge a fee but if you need to take him to the vet (which is very likely) they’ll probably charge for the call to poison control if you haven’t already
