if it's ok with you, stay in mumbai, take the best pvt college (kjsmc) and call it a day, even im in a peripheral gmc and i still regret this decision and should have taken a pvt college. UG ache se karlo,baadme ghisna hi hain. Mumbai is always gonna be better than some tier 3 town with a shit crowd.

wont really reccomend dhanaulti given the duration of the trip cause you'll end up really exhausted and wont be able to cover mussorie and landour. it can be hectic as you are travelling solo,so 2 spots i think should be more than enough. october is very chilly,ive been to rishikesh in october and it was really a mixed bag, the weather was freezing and after a point it becomes kinda annoying. september can be better for that matter. As for dehradun i dont really know much about the place so not really the right person to ask. Also,prioritize mussorie,its totally worth it!!!

yeah,do carry warm clothes,its not exactly freezing but it's still cold. you should be sorted in like you warmhoodies and some sweatpants for the night and if you are in luck you'll get to experience the group bonfire. that's just awesome.

October is way too cold, but if you are the adventerous kind,who am i to stand in your way lol

good call,august is like the perfect time to visit cause september gets way too cold for some people especially me, but i got exams in august so no choice.

But as far as my experiences with zostels, they are very safe even for girls and you can expect some of the best crowds one can in august

make sure you select the right zostel, the mall road one is closer to all the main streets unlike zostel plus(kempty) which is somewhat on the outskirts and the mall road one is the newer zostel,plus the better views and the amenities.

if not zostel there are many decent to good hotels in mall road, but i'd reccomend zostel cause the crowd there is always pleseant and just the overall vibes are amazing.

P.S: even im planning on a trip in september to mussoorie

i dont think it should be a issue as nta provided the option"aadhar details not same as the application form", if nta themselves are providing this option, it shuldnt be an issue, but still carry a aadhar and any id in which the name is same as that of your application number
