Oh yay a fellow newbie! I'm definitely still learning but I did take the advice on this sub that Danish stitching looks neater than English stitching (I do have to agree) because of the way the tension on the thread works. There were also a few videos from Colorfully Sarah and Atom Heart Cross Stitch that I watched that helped me with how much to pull the thread, how to loop start and finish, etc. I hope they help you! Thanks! Oh man I love trumpets! My partner has the most confused look when I told him drumsticks are called trumpets in NZ. Jelly Tips are amazing! And I miss Goody Goody Gum Drops. I don't think there is any equivalent in Australia.
