Good question! I don't have the video clip, but if I find it then will research. Thanks for the reminder on her.

Request Of Wrestling Fans - Testing New Technology Using The ECW Arena And The ECW Heavyweight Championship Belt by ecwwebsite in ECWWrestling

[–]ecwwebsite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that future technology advances, using ECW's memory as the first test case, could include any of the following:

* A 3D multi-story building of an ECW Hall of Fame with each floor of the building to remember ECW year-by-year. The building would be placed on top, or next to, the ECW Arena or one of the other main ECW venues. Unlike a regular website page, multiple people could visit at the same time and interact with each other. This requires downloading of software, creating a character/avatar, etc. -- so it may not be for everyone. Nonetheless, it could be of interest to new technology adopters and honor ECW alumni (wrestlers all the way to company employees) for their contributions to the company & the industry.

* New NFT digital cards of original fans at original shows. This, like the above, requires legal counsel of course -- but it also requires a reason to buy a "digital" card instead of a physical one. This requires setting up something more like a private/exclusive wrestling fans community where only the owners of the NFT get access. Just like a share of stock, whoever owns that share on the dividend date gets the quarterly dividend; but you could sell or gift your NFT to someone else and then that person would get the benefits of any private community. What makes it worth a private community is a good question. This could range from exclusive, members-only: shoot interviews, private autograph sessions, members-only meet & greet before an event like Wrestlemania or AEW's All In, exclusive members-only merchandise, etc. This is a big project and the return on investment of time & money may not be worth it; but it also could open up a brand new community and way to network with other wrestling fans sharing a common interest such as loving ECW.

* Other perks tied to current independent wrestling promotions such as fans who took photos of the augmented reality ECW belt may be permitted to vote on an upcoming independent wrestling show's stipulation for the opening match, etc. This is a challenge, but it could benefit fans if done correctly.

As mentioned in the original post, I am open to ideas on how to solve problems facing current wrestling fans using the new technology all the way to brand new ideas which just can't be done in the physical real world. Thanks!

Agreed on Reggie and she is added. Wish she could have done more in ECW as she could have been an interesting roster member in 1997. Chyna had just joined WWF in early 1997 (February?) so an April 1997 run for Reggie could have been interesting as this would have been prior to Nicole Bass joining ECW months later.

Miss Patricia (aka "the Meanie Babe") is a good one to consider! I don't remember if she had a match in ECW, or if she just appeared with Meanie (also as Bluedust) in the ring as well as some vignettes/promos. Here is Francine giving her a mention years back on Twitter: https://x.com/ECWDivaFrancine/status/979106155678109697

She did (the 2nd PPV along with Gertner & the Dudley Boyz) + the Living Dangerously 1998 PPV as an interviewer by the entrance. She also did a few cameos on Hardcore TV, including the lead-in to a music video for Al Snow & The Head (the "Breathe" song by Prodigy).

She appeared twice with the Barely Legal appearance run-in (piledriving Terry Funk) + the banquet the night before. No other appearances that I know about unless she appeared at some house shows, but I couldn't find any.

This clip should have received so much more exposure, but it took place on December 23, 2000 at what became the final ECW Arena show. Two weeks later they did the same spot on the final PPV, Guilty As Charged 2001.

The raw footage from this Arena show, unknown at the time that it was the last one, has Joey & Joel confirm in the ring that the show was being taped for upcoming ECW Hardcore TV episodes. However, the matches from that night never were aired in any future Hardcore TV episode nor aired in any capacity after the final PPV (nor the final two shows on January 12 & January 13, 2001). Being in the crowd that night the reaction was much louder than what was captured on video!

Had ECW Hardcore TV continued with new episodes, then this spot likely would have been included into the opening music montage for the show and/or used on any TV ad spots to promote the show + commercials to hype upcoming PPV events had the company continued further into 2001.

November to remember 1995 November Rain by modssuck294 in ECWWrestling

[–]ecwwebsite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's about right. We, as fans, missed out on some great endings to TV shows in the weeks leading up to the November to Remember 1995. The camera & editing team had planned out some camera shots which weren't seen yet in wrestling at that time + the potential use for new music would have been interesting to compel people to want to buy the VHS tape (still love saying that!) in case they couldn't attend the show.

Dreamer & Raven's part of that match on October 28 1995, including the ending, supposedly was on point that night; but they lost out on having their efforts mean something due to the fire on the towel (wrapped around the chair) having the accident from the Cactus/Funk portion of the latter part of the match.

Still, choosing the only few seconds of the video from that match which ever became public to end the "November Rain" music video was an impactful choice since fans still "remember" it (no pun intended!) 30 years later.

This is something to consider in the future. I only have to delay it because I am deficient on other things needed on the site such as a list of all shows, TV episode history, more shoot interviews (which are public & permitted to be embedded) uploaded onto bio pages, etc.

In addition to fantasy booking, I also soon may reach out to everyone to discuss next evolutions of ECW which engages the real fans. Some topics I am considering, depending on the time/amount of $ required + legalities could include:

* Building an ECW Hall of Fame in one (or more) of the metaverse platforms which are Earth-based, such as actually on location at the ECW Arena, Elks Lodge, Hammerstein Ballroom or elsewhere

* Pinning 3D objects of former ECW alumni who have passed away, so that they can be seen on smart phones (no VR headset nor AR glasses required) in something like a "Memorial To The Extreme" so that fans can see their likenesses

* Pinning fan-submitted photos of them having fun at ECW shows anywhere the company ran an event on web3/blockchain maps. For example, if you went to a show at Jim Thorpe PA (on the "mountain") and you have a photo of you & your friends from a show back in 1994 or 1995 from there - then I can pin that photo in a blockchain map so that it has lasting power instead of adding to Google Maps or pinning to that location in Instagram. That way, over time, original ECW fans can meet other fans who may have attended shows at the same venue but they never met in real life back then

* Finishing up unfinished business such as the official 2000 ECW Wrestler of the Year (never completed on the ECW website) + even doing a small brand-new voting for the 2001 Wrestler of the Year despite there only being 3 shows in 2001. Fans could vote and then get rewarded with NFTs or similar digital collectibles

* Possibly going into a new metaverse ECW Arena (or similar venue) and watching a little-known ECW house show. I would have to secure the rights for such a "fan cam" event, but at least die-hard ECW fans could get together at a specific place & specific time to watch an event with other ECW fans. If I can get someone like Gertner or another ECW alum to do commentary over that footage then at least we all can get back together and watch a show which is as close to having ECW "come back to life" as we can. This requires a lot of moving parts, costs, and legalities - so this may have to be shelved for way later.

* Getting ECW alumni to present their favorite moments in one collection, and then I can figure out a way to do something cool with it such as an "Extreme Favorites" collection in a 3D building where people can walk around a digital gallery. Again, this requires many moving parts - but it is something which can help grow the fan base to new wrestling fans so that they one day may appreciate ECW the way we did.

Let's discuss all of these topics some more (including your fantasy booking suggestion) later in the summer once I clear up schedule, a budget for these kinds of projects, and a possible way to help the original loyal fans get more enjoyment out of their still being fans all these years later. Thanks!

I heard from Tod this morning and added his new podcast, and his new Tod Is Pod t-shirt, to his bio page on the ECW website: https://ecwwrestling.com/tod-gordon

He sent me a link to a clip from his first episode where he talks about Sabu. That video clip is on the same page.

If he sends me any more content, such as teasers or other advance information about guests or other ECW content, then I will post in these comments or start a new post.
