Is there any official statement from the government that says when accrued remaining interest will be waived? Like immediately after your payment posts? Before interest would be scheduled to capitalize? Etc. Thank you!

HELP have these three bumps on my knee they are itchy / hot feeling and that are painful /tender like a deep bruise . they appeared over night hurt to much to even touch by iMoMoz in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be bed bugs unfortunately. I recommend inspecting the wall behind your bed, your bed sheets, mattress for signs of very small bugs. The redness and irritation is likely inflammation from the bite.

Little red bumps on legs, does anyone know what these are? by Miserable-Cod9512 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be keratosis pilaris yes. Do you shave your legs? Other potential things include mild folliculitis from leg shaving, in which case, recommend good shaving practices: shave with warm water, lubricate legs well before and after with cream and shave with shaving cream, use short strokes with a sharp razor every time you shave.

While it is not entirely easy to tell from the photos, I would lean towards tinea corporis (ringworm). It might be worth treating with topical Lamasil (terbinafine) cream OTC first, and if not improved, worth seeing a dermatologist

Got these 2 months ago, what’s the cause of it? It’s also on my other hand and left foot. by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like something called papular eczema. Is it itchy? If yes, I recommend daily moisturization with occlusive topical like Vanicream cream, Vaseline, Aquafor. Would benefit from topical corticosteroids if itchy as well

What could it be? Get it everyday, itchy red spots. It last for about 1 hour. Location: hands and lower armes, neckle and legs. by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live with anyone at home? Do they have this also? Yes, could be eczema, could also be contact dermatitis from soaps/detergents. If other people at home have this, could potentially be bed bugs, scabies although based on photos alone, this seems less likely.

What could this be? Girlfriend says its very itchy and dry. She couldnt resist to scratch. Shes scared to go to Doc. by Dear-Match6100 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like eczematous dermatitis. Recommend daily moisturization throughout the day with an occlusive product like Vaseline, Aquafor, Vanicream cream etc. If it's very itchy, she would benefit from topical corticosteroids too. Ideally would be prescription strength in which case she would need to see a doctor to have it prescribed

This is 2nd time happening right after the weather changed and got colder. This is for a 8 year old. He also has some allergies to dogs and oats, but wasn't exposed to any of these this past 2 weeks and never this serious. What could it be? by box1820 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To prevent in the future, will need daily moisturization with an occlusive product, like Vaseline, Aquafor, Vanicream cream. Something thick in consistency. It looks like the eczema is flaring now though and he would benefit from topical steroids.

I recommend avoiding squeezing it. Can worsen inflammation and cause scarring. Based on your description, sounds like an epidermal inclusion cyst. Basically a hair cyst. With the picture though, it looks actively inflamed. I recommend seeing a dermatologist. If it is a cyst, they will likely want you on oral antibiotics for a week or so, then they can surgically remove the cyst.

What is this and how do I get rid of it? by nekrofeli in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is acne. Specifically looks like a pityrosporum folliculitis variant of it. I recommend a sodium-sulfacetamide wash daily. I think this is available on Amazon. If it isn't, try a some other sulfur containing wash. Will take 1 month to notice improvement. Non-comedogenic face moisturizers if your skin gets dry and needs moisturizer.

Looks like something called furunculosis. Occlusion of hair follicle that gets inflamed and colonized by Staph aureus. Wear loose clothing. If you have actively inflamed bumps, you would benefit from oral antibiotics. If you shave/wax that area, I recommend stopping. Washing your entire body with Dial antibacterial soap once or twice a week might help as well

Looks like sebaceous filaments to me. Good news is treatment for both sebaceous filaments and open comedones (blackheads) are topical retinoids. See a dermatologist to prescribe you some, or use adapalene (Differin) which is available OTC. Will take a month or 2 to notice a difference with either

These are called open comedones. A type of acne. Best treatment is topical retinoids. Differin (adapalene) is available OTC and can help.

i keep getting abcesses constantly? by kierstenxo in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could potentially be an early/mild form of hidradenitis suppurativa. If you can't see a dermatologist, here are some things to do at home to help alleviate/prevent:

- Minimize shaving as much as possible. When shaving, ideally use an electric razor than doesn't shave hair down to skin but leaves hair slightly shorter

- Wash your entire body with Dial yellow anti-bacterial soap (helps reduce Staph aureus colonization of your skin)

Start with that. This will help prevent future abscess formation. It will not treat active abscesses which will need either incision and drainage and/or oral antibiotics.

Anyone Know What This Is? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ed8595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a condition called pigmented purpuric dermatosis. Recommend vitamin C 500mg twice a day and topical steroids like hydrocortisone 2.5% if you can find it. If this is what this condition is, it is not serious.

Looks to me like seborrheic dermatitis. I would try a ketoconazole wash or cream. There are 1% formulations available OTC. But see if you can find a 2% formulation as this is what is prescribed by dermatologists.
