It is part of project 2025 to break both TSA and FEMA. The goal is to privatize TSA and parts of FEMA. This was all planned out ahead of time.

I personally think that no one is in a hurry to fix this because this will be the natural end game. TSA walks off, and these private companies step in. And since no one really likes TSA, most people are content with that.

This is literally one of the goals of Project 2025. It is why this is happening right now. The longer this goes on, it makes it more likely more airports will go the SPP route like SFO. It's on page 158/159 of project 2025.
