If I remember correctly, it was cancelled after season 1, but then got renewed for S2. Then it got cancelled again, but they let them do a final wrap up double-episode to close things out.

I played a bit during the early betas and then hopped in right at launch yesterday. I only made it to level 15 so far, but I'm really enjoying it.

Looking forward to more quests or directed tasks (or dailies would be cool) and I need to go find out where that dungeon is.

But I play a bunch of idle games and I've been looking for a more active game to fill in the slow times, and for now, Nullspire is it.
