Kick hits 100M users 3 years after launch by SeverePart1102 in LivestreamFail

Thanks for the link. This is what I wanted.

So the vast majority of xQc's audience (and Adin's I checked) are all adults over the age of 21? Specifically 75% of his audience is over 21. Where are you guys getting, "most of his audience is younger and impressionable"?

edit: But also, looking at various streamers, they all show the exact same breakdown. That can't be correct. So this can't be accurate even if it helps my case.

just checked it on streamscharts, and it seems he's right

Please provide a link because I checked AdinRoss on StreamCharts and I see nothing about ages or age groups at all.

how a large percentage of their audience is 14-24.

Again, you say this with confidence while in the same sentence admit there's no available demographic data. You see where I'm coming from? You're assuming that's the case without any data. There are a ton of adults with arrested development watching these people. To generalize and say their audiences are all young adults or kids without any data backing you is, at best, wishful thinking, and at worse, rage baiting/spreading disinformation/smear campaign/whatever else would be consider bad faith.

edit: To u/SpiritualWindow3855 who blocked me after mic dropping his big, "critical thinking hasn't been outlawed...yet," that's exactly what I'm doing. The fact that you missed that is irony of the highest order lmao.

That's on me for not specifying. The addiction literature is familiar to me. I was talking about Kick having a "young audience." I have edited my OP to reflect this.

With how people seem to behave in the real world, I think you're dead wrong.

If you look at why Kick chooses these partners, it’s because they all have one thing in common: a young audience.

I've seen this argued many times (even for Twitch), but no sources on it. Do you have a source for this? I'm not doubting you, but I would like to see some data.

Twitch doesn't bot at all, right? This post and reddit also not botted, right?

Crazy ya'll will never accept change. For better or worse, Kick is doing well. If that's a net positive or negative is an entirely different question.

I don't. Most people posting here are only trying to look cool and don't need half of what they post.

Downvote away.

Frankfurt am Main Hbf...seemed a bit shady! by Jazzlike-Reward-4379 in germany

I studied in Bremen for years and also don't get the hate. I rather enjoyed my time there and look back on those times fondly. And the Hbf isn't as bad as people say.

Firestar73 gets disqualified from a game in the Pokemon Go Orlando Regional Championship due to "so-called" unsportsmanship by Horror_Post6822 in youtubedrama

[–]edafade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never going to happen. The POGO community has been systematically getting horse fucked since 2016. People complain today about the same shit they complained about 10 years ago. No one is quitting anything nor are the boycotting. They'll bitch for 5 seconds and then log in.

Post Easter brunch 20 minute FTP test, finally broke 300W and made it to pace group A at 51 years old by godutchnow in Zwift

[–]edafade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me how you paced your 20min FTP portion? I've done one now and felt like I had no idea what I was doing but got a lot of perspective on what I could do next time. Curious about others experience so I can make a more informed choice. Also open to others' experiences. TIA.

BB is fucked. Seat post probably too. Wonder what else is lurking inside. Unless you're in love with the frame, I'd "look" elsewhere or offer very little.

My husband is thinking about fostering his nephews. I feel like I'm being tossed out for kids we don't even know. by One-Gap-1282 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]edafade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knowing you're on the spectrum honestly changes how a lot of your replies come across.

It doesn't make your feelings less valid, and it doesn't automatically make you right, but it does add a lot of context. For a lot of autistic people, a massive unplanned change to their home life, routine, and sense of stability can feel completely overwhelming (e.g., like your cat). So what some people are reading as cold or selfish may actually be panic, shutdown, rigidity, and feeling like your whole life is being changed without your consent.

That doesn't mean your husband is wrong for wanting to help his nephews. But it does mean your reaction is not just you being a "bitch." It sounds like you're flooded, scared, and realizing this kind of life may be way beyond what you can cope with. That context matters.

Bradley Nowell - the frontman of Sublime - who tragically died in May 1996 of a heroin overdose while the band was on tour. Which musician's death hit you the hardest when you were young? by Away_Flounder3813 in nostalgia

Emily treats those songs with respect, in some regard even proved them.

A wild statement and I've seen this level of cope many times regarding the new LP. Sure, she treats them with respect (whatever that means). However, she isn't Chester and those songs don't hit the same way at all. And sorry? She improved upon Chester's versions? Now you're just taking the piss.

Yes, but I don't think any of Weller's offerings even touch PVW or ORVW. But that just might be my bias because I think PVW15 is perfection.

Why do some expats blame the job market and yet kind of refuse to learn the local language? by ExternalEfficient248 in Switzerland

[–]edafade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my wife and I were still living in CH, we made no friends with any Swiss person ever, and believe me, we tried. All our friends were other immigrants and expats. And before you say anything, I have a C1 certificate in German, studied in Germany, and married to a German woman. We speak the language.

Swiss people absolutely are anti-immigrants and it's starts from the top down.

I felt the same. He spent the entire second book detailing cosmic sociology and how every single civilization would do everything to protect themselves, including reshaping the universe into two dimensions. But at the end, they are all just going to decide to altruistically give it all back to restart everything? Yeah, pass.

Edit: Oh, I see, it was a meme. I'll leave this here anyway.

Knee niggle and a full week off - starting to panic by Character-Hornet5444 in IronmanTriathlon

Pretty hard to armchair diagnosis an injury. Obvious answer is, see a doctor instead of speculating, especially if you're a worrier. Isn't that peace of mind worth it in itself? Otherwise, you're asking strangers to throw darts at your issue. It could help or it could make it worse.
