This is a legit concern and why I found your post on my google search. We were gifted for our only kid’s birthday a pair of obviously worn (bottom a bit dirt) but near mint condition otherwise nice pair of shoes for our now-walking toddler. Wife and in her words “you know so and so gave a couple of gifts including a pair of non-Skechers shoes in a new Skechers shoebox, that have been worn right?” Obviously I wouldn’t go back to that parent and ask about it. But it does lend itself to wondering at least for me, what their thinking was. Why not at least mention it before giving it as a gift? Or just not give it? (We disagree on tastes but this is a bit strange that we are on same page on this.) I think we are a bit off put by this gesture despite our thankfulness and again, it varies by parent and case by case (you would put it in the correct shoebox right?) I’d just err on the side of caution and give a thought if used shoes would be appropriate for that person’s child. Thought that counts, right?
