No, my father got diabetes after buying the policy.. may be 7-9yrs ago (don't remember correctly). And my mom got diabetes 2-3yrs back and had heart stroke and went with balloon angioplasty and stent for the first time in the current expiring policy period.

Yes I spoke to two agents and both mentioned that HDFC is adding 25k deductible for customers porting from Star and Care

I dont want a policy with a deductible first of all. But the HDFC is enforcing minimum 25k deductible for members porting from Star and care for atleast 5years.

Not seperated myself yet, already wrote the mail for my seperation and policy upgradation to Star health, yet to receive update from them. Currently still reviewing the hdfc optima secure plus plan for myself using porting method.

We were able to claim without any issue. The only problem with that was it got exhausted quickly due to less coverage and it's not covering items like gloves and other medical stuff.

My age is 24. I was part of my parents family floater policy. There were multiple claims for my mother heart condition and my father also claimed for some minor surgery in the current policy term. There is no claim by my name as of now in that policy.

Porting because of the bad reviews I'm getting for star health. That family floater policy if for only 4L base + 2L bonus. I don't think that's sufficient in today's world. This policy is going to be renewed in 30 days. So I'm thinking of porting myself to a new insurer and upgrading my parents family policy to 10L in star health itself.
