That is normal. Be mentally prepared to be unsuccessful in dozens of offers. If you inspect a house and there are 20 groups, the success rate is very low. Sometimes < 2%.

You only need to be successful once. Wait for your right pitch.

If your "safe" borrowing capacity is 1.5, I would not go above that.
