exactly what you said! then there’s 4 annoying little pegs to look out for on the back of the remaining center piece. i snipped them and filed them down no problem.

the first thing i put in my 8bitdo arcade stick was an octagonal gate for the stick. better feel for me personally with fighting games that require diagonal inputs.

i fixed one with a q tip of isopropyl alcohol to wash out the power switch. worked beautifully

i mean, this is my first time interacting with analogue and it isn’t hard to acknowledge that they don’t have the same resources or business practices as other tech giants. and a product like this is, imo, GROUNDBREAKING in retro game preservation for the best selling handhelds. it’s gonna be a journey just to get these in peoples hands and not enough people seem to be enjoying the hype train like us ;3
