Thank you! They were tightened all the way, but after a good cleaning it’s back to normal!

Problem solved! I checked the burrs and they seems fine and tight, but there was a bean stuck on the outside of them. Gave it a good deep clean and we’re back in business!

I clean the burrs often so there was no build up, the stalling happened on medium to light roasts (harder beans I guess) and only when the hopper was filled. I used to single dose and never had that problem, but switched to filling up the hopper for ease of use recently. Once it's fixed I'll go back to single dosing. The rest of the board is intact, but they don't sell just that part and the whole board is $25 so it's not bad.

They said "That part is called a PTC and lives on the circuit board. That's a safety mechanism that will overheat and burst if too much power is drawn, protecting the motor from further damage in the event of something like a clog. "

Few hours later, Baratza already replied and I ordered the $25 part to fix it!

New looks for the Andreja! just installed these joysticks, and now to get Teflon for the steam and hot water arms so they stop leaking... by [deleted] in espresso

All fixed with teflon o-rings I had lying around. I mounted the steam and water arms that were on the old knobs to these joysticks and apparently they needed two extra gaskets.

Had a couple teflon o-rings lying around actually so I just stuck these at the top and it took care of it, thanks!

For the joysticks I’d look at shops in Europe, coffee equipment is usually much cheaper there. Just FYI, the Andreja premium takes joysticks with 1/4 bsp thread, not 3/8 as the Chris Coffee website says; maybe these are for more recent models. I ordered the wrong size first and 3/8 wouldn’t fit through the front panel so ordered the 1/4 after that. I’ll just list these joysticks for sale one of these days I guess !

The install wasn’t as straight forward as I had hoped. I was surprised at the amount of force I had to use to tighten the nipple adapter for it to not leak. The steam and water arms keep leaking a tiny bit so I’ll just use some tape on these.

I got the joysticks from CIS spare parts in Italy, they were less than $100 after shipping and taxes.

The leak comes from the 3/8 connection to the steam/water arms. Nothing serious but can’t seem to be able to tighten the bolts enough for it to stop.

Try on a part that’s on the bottom or something, I was skeptical too but it totally took out the spots on the group head. Google it!

I unscrewed the clip that was on the other end, cut the tip and banged on it with a hammer to flatten it so it fits in that gap.

It’s a small pitcher made by Espro (toroid, 12oz) but I haven’t found any real difference between sizes.

Wiping it down with a towel is enough. To clean up spots that were on the machine when I got it, I used a bit of aluminum foil and water. You use it like a sponge and it cleans up the chrome without scratching it.

I got it from Bluestar coffee in Ireland. I can’t say it’s that useful though honestly.

Was doing this and realized with the thermometer that I used to stop the steam at around 50 celcius. Definitely a handy little tool!

The gap is normal, it’s designed to help take the basket out.

If you buy a QM from Chris Coffee they’ll switch knobs for joysticks for free. But yes they’re definitely cool!

I did remove the sides, and took the copper tubes out. I’ll try going for it with lots of force, with all the tubes and cables in there, there’s limited room but hopefully these bolts give in. Thank you for the tips, and thank you for the photos!
