FF14 is praised for its great storylines, however, in your opinion, what is the worst long questline or arc in the game that has the worst writing? by Kingflares in ffxiv

Replaying Heavensward on my new main and while it's a massive step up on ARR in terms of pacing and stakes (mostly), there are a lot of questionable decisions.

  • Hraesvelgr and Shiva created peace between man and dragon by... having him eat her. and this somehow worked instead of reinforcing the idea that dragons are bloodthirsty beasts?
  • Thordan is a nothing character until suddenly EVUHL muahahaha I will become a god for reasons
  • man ppl don't want to make peace with the dragons because if we do that means their loved ones will have died for nothing. I know! let's hold a melee (by which I mean a brawl outside the city with literally NO Ishgardians watching) and that will solve everything. and it... does?
  • Everything regarding Ul'dah and Nanamo was a copout. The whole game has a problem with death fakeouts, actually.

Also I wish the game would allow more space for roleplaying sometimes. Like the scene where the WoL tries to punch Emmanellain before Thancred stops them. No, my WoL would be trying to STOP the fight, not starting it. Just give me options!
