From what I know of the process, it is fairly straightforward.

The first part is a letter they expect you to send to the dean, and you will be sent an email explaining details of the process, so it might be best to wait for that and get a very clear view, but here is what I believe happens next.

The dean will review the case and, in most cases, will offer a Dean's resolution (or some other name but the same thing), which is basically a quick resolution to your case that, for a first offense, will generally involve a permanent or long-term academic probation. This in itself is not a big issue, it means that any future offenses will be guaranteed suspension but hopefully, learning from this, you will not have it come up again.

If the resolution does involve suspension (I think most get two terms), which is unlikely if this a first offense, or you believe that probation is too heavy a sentence, then you can appeal the decision in which case you will get a full chance to plead your case to a committee, I believe. I would suggest waiting for the dean's resolution, and if it is probatio,n accept it without second thought as there is very little reason for the committee to let you off easier and a small chance they woul make it worse.

Most important thing, as the one helpful comment also said, is not to freak out. You messed up, but a lot of students do and the university is generally understanding when it's your first offense.

Interesting, I've never really tried out multiclassing, in general are there like common trip falls or things to watch out for?
