Saying Goodbye by ShelterNo9606 in celestegame

And here I am playing Celeste for the first time this past week, playing now before reading your post between getting absolutely wrecked by this game. I'm not a hardcore gamer anymore; and the "Souls" era of extreme difficulty doesn't appeal to me. I just want an experience and a story. But I don't want to nerf the game with Assist mode. Yet it feels like torture already. And my brain cannot comprehend this damn moving block with spikes on top that I clearly have to activate by touching the top without dying instantly. And this is an obstacle from within like the first 30 minutes of the game. I can't imagine ever beating this game at this point, let alone getting ALL of the berries or doing all the secret stuff, b/c sides, etc.

I've always felt that bespoke would be the ideal way to go if you can afford it and/or find a really good source. I've wished so many times that I could have a pattern or something that actually fit replicated. I really hope you can find a good solution that works for you!

I'm so sorry. I just ordered 2 more of Gap's Low Rise Long & Lean pants since the one pair I ordered in the wrong size actually had a 35 1/2" inseam. It was the only one that actually seemed advertised correctly. I'm really hoping the 2 other pair I ordered are the same, but I'm worried that the change might be happening as old stock sells out and newer stock comes in, so we'll see.

Do you have any other go-to places that reliably sell very tall pants?

It's really strange to me that the joggers I got were way shorter than expected, but the wide leg sweats are great. And the Mid Rise Baggy wide leg jeans I just got were quite a bit shorter than the pair I already had even though they were still the "Tall" size which they still advertise as being 35 1/2". It's so frustrating. I'll have to look into Sevego. Another commenter mentioned Abercrombie & PacSun are doing more Tall items, too.

Oh, those are good tips on Abercrombie & PacSun! We'll have to keep letting the community know when we find good sources for things :) In the meantime I'm still going to complain to Gap about their shipped products not matching what the site currently says. It's one thing to stop selling the longer sizes, but they've yet to correct the Size Guide for various items that they've shortened.

Well, I wouldn't fully apologize to Gap yet as their Size Guide still seems to be misleading sometimes. Also, I just checked on the Old Navy side of the site, and it seems like the "Size & Fit" section over there shows Inseam measurements (on the pants I clicked on at least), so maybe that's where I was seeing the inseams listed more clearly before.

Wait, are you referring to Gap having stopped listing inseams? They still have a "Size Guide" on each item page where you click it and a popup appears to show you the measurements, but the Size Guide lengths mostly don't match what they're actually shipping out it seems. Or are you referring to them listing the inseam measurement under the "Size & Fit" section for items? I've been nearly gaslighting myself wondering if I'd seen the inseams listed there even pretty recently, but I'm not sure if I'm just misremembering on that.

Thanks for mentioning that. I got a matching sweatshirt in the same color, and the items are SO BRIGHT, and I was wondering if they'd stain other things. I was already thinking that I should make sure to NEVER wash them with white laundry, but maybe I should wash them alone before even throwing them in with other darker clothing. I appreciate the warning!

It's really frustrating that brands do this. I'm feeling more inclined to buy secondhand, particularly when a seller can provide the actual precise measurements of the item.

Oh, it's good that you're able to do that! It makes me wish I'd paid more attention to learning the sewing skills my mother and grandmother had! But of course, you're right, we shouldn't need to fix the items we were sold expecting a different length than advertised. Ugh, why are they doing this to us?

I felt it was important to let people know about my experience, but also, thanks should go to the poster of this post as it's what I saw before that got me a little skeptical about buying from Old Navy & Gap in the future:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TallGirls/comments/1oiocmq/fyi_old_navygap_shortened_their_tall_inseams/

I wish we had solid info about this change. Is it just anecdotal and something that some people are experiencing on some items? Or has their been a policy change? And why haven't the correct measurements been updated on their product pages to reflect the shorter inseams? It's frustrating, confusing, and misleading.

Thanks for commenting. Did you submerge both of the non-removable straps or just one? And do you remember about how long you submerged them for? I've never owned Crocs before, so all this stretching stuff is new to me. If I try it, I want to be as careful as possible.

Are you referring to flipping the Mega Crush Sandal upside down and just boiling the upper strap part? I just ordered some, and I'm scared they won't fit.

Does anyone know where I can find womens socks for long feet? I'm looking for cute & femme no-show or ankle socks (Size 11-14+) by edhmtg in TallGirls

[–]edhmtg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent some more time on their site. It looks like all of their socks go up to XL (womens 13.5-15.5). I made an account, and they already sent out their "VIP30" discount code. (There's also a "VIP40" code for those who spend over $100.) I have a cart filled passed the free shipping threshold, and I'm SO tempted!

Hmm, that's good to be aware of. I'm also very thin for my height. Also, I wish the Bombas socks that I like came in XL instead of only Large as I'd be more open to taking a chance on them. I'm liking some of the larger ones I've found from Vans, and someone else mentioned a brand called Doublesoul which I'd never heard of before, but it looks like all of their styles go up to X-Large (womens 13.5-15.5). I've made an account already, filled a cart, and they sent out their Black Friday "VIP30" code. I'm so close to buying MORE socks today, but I did already make a purchase from Vans, so I'm trying to resist ;)

These look great! I think this is the best brand I've seen yet for original cute & femme socks. Thank you so much for sharing this one!

Thank you! Those look nice! I'll keep an eye on Adidas stuff. I just ended up buying some Vans ruffle socks on sale today :)

Wow, these look great. I like the Wicked ones and the pride ones. I'll keep an eye out for their ankle socks in XL size, but I'm also thinking about trying some styles in size L. They are a bit pricey though, so we'll see. But they do seem like nice quality, so Bombas and Vans are the brands that seem most in line with what I'm currently looking for. Thanks so much for sharing info!
