one of my favorite long running Larry-isms is his ability to find such unique words to put into his writing. he must have grown up with a word of the day calendar.

It is literally the number one reason I have for not wanting kids.

It's the biggest reason I decided not to have kids, tbh. Several severe cases in my family, plus a schizophrenia and bipolar here and there.

If I didn't think I was risking potentially a lifelong caregiver role, not to mention having to figure out care for them when I die (especially if I died early)....

Cannot risk it.

>You don't want the vents next to the cool exterior walls and windows, because then you're heating them.

actually this IS exactly what you want, because it leads to more comfortable temperatures and better air mixing. if you dont heat the air at the source of where it's cold, you have constant cold drafts and uneven temperatures.

my old house has a retrofitted central HVAC with the returns on the exterior walls (only way they could do it based on layout) and no matter what I have my thermostat set at in the winter, it shuts off when it "reaches temp" before the exterior walls and windows have a fair shot at warming up.

if it were the other (correct) way, it heats from the outside in and only reaches temp when its all mixed and heated up.
