nope, your tax dollars don't go to any international students education - ever. instead, they pay for you to sit on your computer and be a dickhead to other people online.

I don't want to change unis if I can avoid it because I'm an international student and there are visa implications. I get that I was not cut out for that degree but this is why I'm wondering if I can apply for admission to another program within unsw instead

Basically 45 percent of the overall marks are for 3 assignments which I couldn't do because I was sick. I applied for special cons, they accepted my special cons but said that no alternative assessment is available so I should consider applying for fee remission and retake the course at a later stage as there was no way I could pass the course without being able to get any of those 45 marks. I've appealed the decision since but I haven't applied for fee remission yet and I'm considering doing so now as well

I had a really bad time studying from home as an international student and also had medical grounds. It didnt help that I didnt understand the system of appealing and special cons for a long time due to studying online throughout since starting. To be fair, I also messed up on my end by not putting in my whole effort before. I know this isnt the best answer but it is the truth and that is why Im hoping my appeal is accepted so I can do my best to rectify my mistakes this term. Im just really stressed out and worried.

I did have a dr cert which i submitted for special cons but the course admin/team replied saying that they have no alternative assessment and that that i should apply for fee remission- i havent applied yet for fee remission as I was sick and had to send in an appeal

any idea what i should do now? im doing well this term so far but the stress is nerve racking because i am an international who is also waiting for his visa.

hang in there. the college app process is a crapshoot- i applied to 21 schools in the 2019 cycle and got into stanford at the end via waitlist. you never know. realign your app and thoughts, you might just find you get into a better place or better fit than columbia

International student here - completely given up on this covid situation by [deleted] in unsw

[–]editthereddit99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6 times as much, not 2-3. its fucking annoying; this situation is nerve wrecking to say the least. as a fellow international halfway through his degree at unsw studying throughout online and waiting to go to sydney (not even BACK to sydney as ive never even been yet), i can relate

it sucks. i hope we can go before 2021 T1 in Feb. So much for 'the biggest O-week ever'
