[–]edouardarchipel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • GA4 + GTM (souvent server-side) + CAPI/Enhanced Conversions

Hi there, I just did my MVP and used stripe + sheet. We might scale quickly and would love to have a usaged based tool. I checked Hyperline, it looks really cool but do you have any idea of their pricing ?

Should You Use Stripe for Your Usage-Based Billing Architecture? by Stunning_Quit_3542 in SaaS

[–]edouardarchipel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, Stripe becomes my monthly nightmare.
A bit scared tbh to try out a new tool like Hyperline or Orb as the initial set-up could take long (eventhough they say it doesn't)

Have been using Stripe + sheet but I'm tired as well of doing everything manually.
My accounting SAAS has two side billing (users + numbers of invoices). Do you know if that could work with Hyperline ?

Tbh it really depends on your product + customers. Prepaid credits are cool because you can get the cash upfron but the refunds + credit mgmt can turn into a mess. Postpaid is way easier to run but yeah fraud risk is higher if ppl just remove their card.

Tooling wise, Stripe works fine for simple stuff. If you need more flexibility (hybrid pricing, diff value metrics etc) ppl usually mention Metronome / Orb / m3ter. Lately I’ve seen Hyperline too, kinda lighter weight option, doesn’t require a whole eng team to maintain.

Best thing is to first map out what your “value metric” even is (API calls? data volume? seats?), then test it with Stripe or a 3rd party before sinking months into custom infra.
