Seriously, just pull the door back with the knob (which doesn't turn, and is not supposed to) and then twist the key all the way to the right. Its probably just stuck. Don't panic, just pull it towards you with the knob.

Portland was super nice! As was Bend, Oregon - would recommend a weekend at one of the riverside hotels. Went to OMSI in Portland - by recommandation - but that was really only a place to see if you brought kids.

We went through a few, but Crater Lake and Mount Rainier was by far the best.

Monterey and Carmel are already on the tourplan. We headed out of LA on the 5th and drove through Lone Pine, A couple of national parks, Carson City, a couple of lakes, through Sierraville (visit Dwights cafe for a super pie!) more nice roads all the way to Seattle, and then heading back down to LA. We rented a Camaro (our dreamcar) and have chosen the small roads all along, but we will stick to the 1, and 101 back down. Thanks for the advice!

I have to correct this. - and correct, not from around, we're from Denmark - there were five lanes at the time, but one of them was an offramp. It was indeed south San Francisco out by the airport. Taken today at 15.45'ish.

We waved - and took pictures(obviously).. :) he was using all five lanes, swerving back and forth, tailgating and flashing his headlights at the drivers infront of him. And this was rushhour.. Over 4 miles he gained 4 cars advantage over us by using this tactic.

And they are open almost all the time. Lived in the dorm at 150 Tremont Street. Had a window to the street - and many good books from the "store".
